Ready Player One - Pop Culture Film Of The Year!

Nostalgia is what many films are banking on right now. And  Ready Player One is expected to bring a smorgasbord of pop culture, music, and games into one film. Based on the book by Ernest Cline, it is the ultimate fanboy movie that is now getting them hyped.

But was nostalgia the only driving force for the movie? Well we also have to consider the plot which is based on futuristic setting plus the virtual world which everyone is fighting for, the oasis. Bringing in a ton of references, cameos, and surprises, it is a Easter Egg within an Easter Egg.

With a lot at stake for the future of the oasis, the competition becomes a war for total control and half a trillion dollars, in the virtual and the real world. Wade Watts (Sheridan) becomes a prime player in the game which caught the attention of the "evil" IOI company and things get crazier in the real world. According to the book it was supposed to have more cameos but the things got complicated and they stick to what are available to use, which is actually a good thing since it will not overshadow the main story.

WWF-Philippines’ CEO and President Joel M. Palma said, “The Philippines will continue to play an important role in sending a message to the rest of the world that we can tread the path to sustainable development and help protect our people and planet’s health and wellbeing. Holy week is upon us and one of our devotional traditions is doing Visita Iglesia by visiting churches. Depending on your preference, you could visit 7, 8 or even 14 churches, usually done with the way of the cross. I've been practicing this tradition with friends and family, and I would always ask myself how can I make this a unique experience every year.

With many churches located within Metro Manila, there is practically a lot of place to go to to complete your itinerary. And recently, there is a new way of doing Visita Iglesia and this is through the Pasig River. It was in recent years that ferry service was available for the public. The Zoomanity Group had a great idea of infusing Visita Iglesia with the river cruise which makes it an unique experience.

Production Underway on Marvel Studios' "Captain Marvel"

 Marvel Studios has begun principal photography in Los Angeles, California, on its newest film, “Captain Marvel.” The production is shooting in and around the greater Los Angeles area, which will also serve as the production base for the film. The production will also shoot on location in Fresno, California, as well as locations in Louisiana, including Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

Set for release in the United States on March 8, 2019, Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” is directed by the writing/directing team of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, whose credits include “Mississippi Grind” and “Half Nelson.” An all-star collective of accomplished writers penned the screenplay, including Meg LeFauve (“Inside Out,” “The Good Dinosaur”), Nicole Perlman (upcoming “First Man,” Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy”), Geneva Robertson-Dworet (“Tomb Raider,” upcoming “Sherlock Holmes 3”), Liz Flahive & Carly Mensch (“Glow”), and Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck.

"The Walking Dead's" Jeffrey Dean Morgan Has a Blast in "Rampage"

Jeffrey Dean Morgan freed up some time from his busy schedule on TV's The Walking Dead, so he can star opposite Dwayne Johnson in New Line Cinema's epic adventure Rampage (in Philippine cinemas Thursday, April 12).

And he obviously enjoyed himself doing the actioner. He shares, “For one scene, I’m firing four clips of machine gun fire into a giant monster, and the director yells cut and walks up to me and says, ‘Can you stop smiling?’ – because I’m having such a good time with Rampage!”

BFFs Wanted: Forest Foundation launches the Best Friends of the Forest Movement

The Philippines is facing a rapid decline of forest cover—from 27 million hectares down to already as little as 7 million hectares. In fact, most of the country’s old growth forests are in danger of deforestation. Forests in Palawan, Sierra Madre, Samar and Leyte, and Mindanao are threatened by agricultural conversion and human settlements.

Along with the combined threats of logging activities, poor law enforcement, and mining projects in biodiversity-rich areas such as Palawan, the country is losing approximately 47,000 hectares of forest cover every year, according to the data provided by the Forest Management Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
