The award-winning film starring Timothee Chalamet, Taylor Russell and Mark Rylance will have  festival screenings on Friday, Nov. 18 and Saturday, Nov. 19 at The Block Cinemas - SM North EDSA, both at 8:00PM. Fans and cineastes are encouraged to grab this rare opportunity to watch the film ahead of everyone else.  Tickets are priced at only P300 each.

“Bones and All” is a story of first love and a liberating road odyssey of two young people (Chalamet, Russell) coming into their own, searching for identity and chasing beauty in a perilous world that cannot abide who they are.

In September, the film held its world premiere in the 79th Venice International Film Festival where it received over eight minutes of standing ovation. During the festival’s awards night, Luca Guadagnino was honored with the Silver Lion for Best Director, and the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actress went to Taylor Russell.

Last week, “Bones and All” received two nominations in the 32nd Annual Gotham Awards -- Taylor Russell for Outstanding Lead Performance, and Mark Rylance for Outstanding Supporting Performance.

With an impressive 88% Tomatometer score at reviews-aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, “Bones and All” has become one of the most critically-acclaimed films of the year.

In its review, The Hollywood Reporter wrote “Guadagnino’s seemingly divergent interests in romance and horror have never come together quite so ideally as they do here, played out against a constantly moving canvas of small-town America.”

“It’s actors give you something to watch every minute,” praised TIME Magazine, while Entertainment Weekly described the film as “A born provocateur's faithful ode to a classic cinematic genre, only with human gristle between its teeth.”

Finally, Los Angeles Times raved “There’s real pleasure in `Bones and All,’ an insistent sweetness that somehow both nourishes and cleanses away the horror.”

About “Bones and All”

In “Bones and All,” first love finds Maren (Taylor Russell), a young woman learning how to survive on the margins of society, and Lee (Timothee Chalamet), an intense and disenfranchised drifter, as they meet and join together for a thousand-mile odyssey that takes them through the back roads, hidden passages, and trap doors of Ronald Reagan’s America. But despite their best efforts, all roads lead back to their terrifying pasts and a final stand that will determine whether their love can survive their otherness.

Directed by Luca Guadagnino, “Bones and All” stars Taylor Russell (“Escape Room”), Timothée Chalamet (“Dune”) and Mark Rylance (“Dunkirk”).  Based on the novel by Camille DeAngelis, screenplay by David Kajganich.

Ready Player One - Pop Culture Film Of The Year!

Nostalgia is what many films are banking on right now. And  Ready Player One is expected to bring a smorgasbord of pop culture, music, and games into one film. Based on the book by Ernest Cline, it is the ultimate fanboy movie that is now getting them hyped.

But was nostalgia the only driving force for the movie? Well we also have to consider the plot which is based on futuristic setting plus the virtual world which everyone is fighting for, the oasis. Bringing in a ton of references, cameos, and surprises, it is a Easter Egg within an Easter Egg.

With a lot at stake for the future of the oasis, the competition becomes a war for total control and half a trillion dollars, in the virtual and the real world. Wade Watts (Sheridan) becomes a prime player in the game which caught the attention of the "evil" IOI company and things get crazier in the real world. According to the book it was supposed to have more cameos but the things got complicated and they stick to what are available to use, which is actually a good thing since it will not overshadow the main story.

REEL DEAL: Bridges of Spies REVIEW

The cold war has been a very critical period in history, as it was just after the World War, and the nuclear technology poses as a great threat to humanity. With two key players, the United States and U.S.S.R., harnessing the information, technology and development of these weapons are damn scary. That is the premise of Bridge of Spies by Stephen Spielberg which stars Tom Hanks as James B. Donovan.

With the capture of an alleged Soviet spy, Rudolf Abel, Donavan became his attorney and eventually become a negotiator in making an exchange for an American who was captured while making espionage flight over Russia. The negotiations take place in East Berlin where another American was also caught in the conflict thus making the exchange more complicated.

Many of us would think that period films would be boring, but Bridge of Spies gave the sense of excitement, sadness, and psychological conflicts that makes a connection to the viewers. And of course, Tom Hanks and Mark Raylance did an awesome job for their respective roles.

Based on historical events that happened during the Cold War era when an American U-2 spy jet was shot down in Soviet air space along with its pilot, the stirring thriller “Bridge of Spies” brings to life the crisis that raised tensions between the U.S. and the Soviets during such volatile times.

Tom Hanks, known for his engaging characterization in blockbuster films such as “Saving Private Ryan,” “The Da Vinci Code,” “Angels and Demons,” “Forrest Gump” and “Castaway”  stars anew in the historical movie “Bridge of Spies” that tells of an extraordinary story of an unlikely hero set against the backdrop of a series of historic events.
