Rockford Productions Presents “Far From Perfect: Truefaith’s Senti 25, The Silver Anniversary Show”

This year marks the country’s top pop band, Truefaith’s 25th year in the business. 

To celebrate this milestone, an anniversary show is scheduled on October 25 at the Music Museum aptly titled “Far From Perfect: Truefaith’s Senti 25, The Silver Anniversary Show.” The concert promises to be an engaging night of Truefaith’s exquisite brand of OPM plus some surprises including very special guests (which will be announced soon.)

Truefaith has won several accolades including MTV Philippines’ Video of the Year 2001 for the music video of the song, “Awit Para Sa Kanya” and a bunch of Awit Awards. In fact they are nominated again in this year’s upcoming Awit awards in the category of Best Group for the song, “Cool Lang” from the just-released 10th album, “Sentimental.” “Sentimental” is a collection of new material that are as good as their past hits, “Perfect,” “Huwag Na Lang Kaya?” “Muntik Nang Maabot Ang Langit,” “Kung OK Lang Sa ‘Yo” and “Dahil Ikaw.” Their latest single, “Kahit Na” will have its music video (shot entirely in beautiful Sorsogon) released online soon. It has been a long way since the early days of the band’s original members working at Fullerton Studios in 1992. Now, Medwin Marfil (vocals), Allan Elgar (lead guitar), Macky Macaventa (bass), Eugene Marfil (acoustic guitar), Jake Lumacad (keyboards) and Kaka Quisumbing (drums) are determined more than ever to pursue their musical dreams with a lot of hard work and faith!

SM Cinema brings Asian phenomenon to the big screen with “Crazy Rich Asians” and “The Meg”

Asia takes the centerstage in theatres as SM Cinema brings you not one but two novel-based movies highlighting Asian characters and locations with Crazy Rich Asians and The Meg that will surely pump up your August.

Dubbed as the first big-budget, non-period film in 25 years to feature an all-Asian ensemble cast, “Crazy Rich Asians” is based on the best-selling novel with the same title by Kevin Kwan.  

The film features Rachel Chu (Constance Wu) and her boyfriend, Nick Young (Henry Golding) as they go to Singapore for a wedding. Rachel learns that Nick’s family is one of Singapore’s richest clan. Given this situation, Rachel must now contend with the socialites, relatives and most of all, Nick’s mother, who cannot accept their relationship. 

Shot in different countries in Asia and another book-to-movie adaptation based on “Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror”, Director Jon Turteltaub reimagines the story of the prehistoric shark in his latest movie, “The Meg”. 

The Sixth and Final Season of House of Cards Returns to Netflix on November 2, 2018

Golden Globe winner and Emmy Award nominee Robin Wright returns as President of the United States in the sixth and final season of the award-winning landmark series House of Cards.  Wright is joined by Academy Award® nominees Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear as well as Cody Fern this season alongside Emmy Award nominee Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Academy Award® nominee Patricia Clarkson, Emmy Award Nominee Constance Zimmer, Derek Cecil, Campbell Scott, and Boris McGiver.  House of Cards executive producers are Melissa James Gibson, Frank Pugliese, Robin Wright, David Fincher, Joshua Donen, Dana Brunetti, Eric Roth, Michael Dobbs, and Andrew Davies. The series was created by Beau Willimon and is produced by Donen/Fincher/Roth, with MRC as the studio, for Netflix.  

In 2013, House of Cards became the first original online series to receive major nominations from the Primetime Emmy Awards. Today’s audiences instantly recognize Ronnie Henares as a mainstay in the popular comedy series “Pepito Manaloto” where he surprised people with his comic flair. Ronnie is also widely recognized as the manager in tandem with wife Ida, responsible for transforming steel-throated “Ang Bagong Kampeon” champ Chona Velasquez into the classy musical superstar Regine Velasquez. Others developed under their Primeline Management & Production, Inc., were Lani Misalucha, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Nanette Inventor, Tux, Gino Padilla and the list goes on.

However, just recently Team Philippines won the top prize in the spring edition of "I Can Sing in Japanese!".
