As Cebu’s domestic economy prepares for gradual reopening, mobility and on-demand delivery services will continue to play their roles in driving economic activities across various industries and supply chains. Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation, the Philippines’ longest running energy company, and Grab Philippines, Southeast Asia’s leading superapp, have come together to provide support to Grab’s driver- and delivery-partners who play a key role in supporting Cebu’s longer-term socio-economic recovery through safe and reliable mobility and delivery services.

Empowering customers with Globe’s Data Manager

Imagine having the capability to know where your mobile data goes and being able to control how it is consumed. Globe fully understands that this is what customers need and responds by introducing Data Manager, a feature that empowers customers to track and control their data usage.

Data Manager provides Globe Prepaid and TM customers on Android a comprehensive understanding of their data consumption by showing its breakdown. It gives them a view of the frequently used apps and lets them select which apps can consume their data. This allows customers to use their data only for activities that are important to them.

Globe values the hard-earned money customers spend for data and wants to ensure that it is used according to their needs. However, in some cases, customers are unaware that their data is being used up by background apps that continuously run even when closed, resulting in a perception that their data is being eaten up despite having no usage. This can be stopped by Data Manager, giving customers the assurance that their data will not be wasted but instead maximized.

Help alleviate hunger through Globe Rewards and GCash

The National Capital Region (NCR), Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal are once again under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). For many marginalized families, this poses another challenge in making ends meet and increases the risk of widespread hunger.

Given this, Globe continues to encourage customers to join its initiatives to help address hunger among at-risk families especially with the limitations in movement brought about by another COVID-19 surge. Customers may donate to Globe’s partner organizations: Walang Iwanan Alliance (WIA), Rise Against Hunger (RAH), and Gawad Kalinga’s Kusina ng Kalinga (KnK) via Globe Rewards or GCash.

Walang Iwanan Alliance is a citizen-led initiative to build a platform that unites all efforts to mitigate or end hunger in the most vulnerable communities across the country, especially those deeply affected by the pandemic. Its goal is to set up a vast network of anti-hunger advocates and the corresponding systems that can allow quicker and more effective responses where hunger arises.
