World Vision’s Noche Buena Campaign Shares the Joy of Christmas to the Most Vulnerable Children

World Vision is once again bringing the holiday spirit to our most vulnerable children and their families as it continues its annual Christmas tradition with the Noche Buena campaign.

Since 2006, Christmas has been celebrated by World Vision’s supported children and their community with joyful memories of the generosity of sponsors and donors through the annual distribution of Noche Buena gifts.

But due to the adverse impacts of the pandemic, many families were forced to face heavy financial burdens due to quarantine restrictions and scarcity or loss of jobs.

According to the COVID-19 assessment report conducted by World Vision, 16.7% or 4.2 million Filipino families experienced involuntary hunger or hunger due to lack of food since the early days of the pandemic.

BRIA Homes Hosts Free Webinars for Our Kababayang OFWs

Our kababayang OFWs benefitted from the expertise
and experience of special guest speaker Marissa del Mar.

In the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, one of the more seriously affected sectors are the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW), who have long been acknowledged as the economic heroes of the country. OFWs, estimated to number 2.566 million are responsible for a total of $20.38 billion in remittances for the first nine months of 2021, an important lifeline in a developing country such as the Philippines.

However, while global travel restrictions remain fluid, altering or even impeding their long-planned homecoming events, OFWs are being encouraged to direct their energies towards a positive goal: achieving and sustaining financial health. Many are now learning that they can provide for their families—and contribute to the Philippine economy—even as they go from being spenders to being savers and investors.

PHL Advertising’s best work recognized at 2021 Kidlat Awards

4As Annual Creative show stages successful comeback after one-year break

The titans of Philippine advertising came together—albeit, virtually—to recognize the most outstanding, innovative, and groundbreaking creative work that has come out in the past two years through the much-awaited return of the Kidlat Awards!

The Kidlat Awards, held last November 26, is the annual creative show of the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies of the Philippines (4As) and this year marked its return after taking a break in 2020 due to the pandemic. Because of its absence last year, this year’s Kidlat Awards honored the best work from 2019 and 2020 in one event.

“Kidlat strikes again, and this time with more furor and more bravado,” Norman Agatep, President of the 4As and President and Managing Director of Grupo Agatep said. “After a one-year hiatus the creative show of the [4As] is back with a vengeance. After many months of ideating from homes, brainstorming via Zoom, submitting artworks through Viber, and supervising production from our dining tables, we’ve clearly demonstrated that no pandemic can cage the creative spirit, and if anything the virus has only strengthened our resolve to create solutions, to connect with people, and to be a force for good in today’s difficult world.”

Companies urged to take advantage of ‘The Great Reset’ to build a more sustainable future

Countries are given the unprecedented opportunity to build back in a more environmentally and socially sustainable way as they rebuild their economies amid the pandemic.  In the same way, this “Great Reset” offers a chance for corporations to rethink priorities and work towards building a more sustainable future.

Lucas Joppa, Chief Environmental Officer at Microsoft Corporation, pointed this out during the 12th Leadership Innovation Forum (Lead-In) of Globe Business.  The event, attended by over 900 guests including corporate leaders across all industries, carried the theme “Bigger Picture, Greater Future: Redefining Success Beyond Business.”

Joppa explained that at the center of the “Great Reset” is environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices.  ESG urges companies to go beyond the pure pursuit of profit to benefit the broader socio-economic systems.
