Explore the past, think on the present, and change the future in the romantic fantasy of “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey”

In PH cinemas Sept 17

“Like many movie lovers, I’m hungry for new worlds, new characters, and a new way of thinking about the human experience,” director Kogonada notes, describing his inspiration for his new original film A Big Bold Beautiful Journey. The film stars Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell together on screen for the first time, as strangers who meet at a mutual friend’s wedding who unexpectedly find themselves on A Big Bold Beautiful Journey.

Doors play an important role in the film, as they bring the characters back to key moments in their pasts.  “I love the theatre of doors. When I see a door on a theatrical stage, it always sparks the imagination. That door has the potential to lead us anywhere - into the mundane or the magical. Doors represent possibilities. They are inherently mysterious. Opening a door, literally and figuratively, means entering a new space, a new experience, a new moment in your life,” director Kogonada (Columbus, After Yang) explains.

Addressing Dementia: Why Early Action and Everyday Brain Care Matter

LAC Philippines Highlights Holistic Brain Health Support for Filipinos

Dementia affects over 57 million people worldwide, with nearly 10 million new cases each year.   This is the seventh leading cause of death and a major driver of disability among older adults. Alzheimer’s disease, the most common form of dementia, accounts for 60 to 70% of these cases.

In the Philippines, the burden extends beyond patients to entire families, as care remains largely home-based due to limited formal services. This is especially challenging for women, who not only face higher rates of disability and mortality, but also shoulder most caregiving duties.

A proposed measure in the House of Representatives — the Philippine Dementia and Alzheimer Care Policy (House Bill No. 185) — seeks to change this by establishing a national program for early detection, treatment, and support for patients and caregivers. As the bill advances in Congress and World Alzheimer’s Day approaches this September, LAC Philippines highlights the urgent need for accessible brain health solutions that help protect cognitive function and preserve quality of life.

Come now, to corruption! Catch Kim Woo-bin & Suzy in Genie, Make a Wish this October 3!

Genie, Make a Wish is written by Kim Eun-sook (The Glory) and tells the enchanting story of Jinn (Kim Woo-bin), a genie who awakens after a thousand years, and Ka-young (Suzy), his new impassive master. The show blends romantic comedy around their conflicts over three wishes, which sets the stage for a magical twist of destiny, desire, and of course – love.

Genie, Make a Wish is coming October 3, only on Netflix.

ABOUT GENIE, MAKE A WISH

Genie, Make a Wish follows the story of Genie — a magic spirit in a lamp who has come back to the human world after a millennium of his career being put on hold — encounters Ka-young, an impassive woman who goes through the motions of life by her grandmother’s rules and her own routines.

Kim Woo-bin (Officer Black Belt, Black Knight) portrays Genie. Unlike the kind Genie everyone is familiar with, he is a Satan who tempts and corrupts humans with three wishes. However, he's not just any Satan—he's an eccentric character who has awakened after a thousand years and is naive about the world.

World-renowned pianist Cecile Licad graces this country in October with her only solo performance in Metro Manila.

Ms. Licad chose romantic and early modern works believing that these will resonate well with her local audiences.
