‘BATTLESHIP’ from game-to-film

On April 12  2012, the battle for Earth begins at sea. Peter  Berg directs and produces Battleship, an epic-scale action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force.

After the blockbuster success of the toys-to-films Transformers and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, Hasbro reviewed the catalogue and focused on “Battleship” as its first game-to-film.  Still, the company knew it wouldn’t move forward until a crucial dilemma was resolved: how to logically transfigure a beloved property into a cohesive and entertaining motion picture.

It was crucial to the producers that when audiences see this epic, they witness an incredible spectacle. Bennet  Schneir,  the leader in leisure time entertainment services and products in Hasbro Inc. says: “They’re going to see airplanes and ships and aliens and shredders and thugs.  They’re going to see the game of ‘Battleship’ that they all grew up on come to life in front of them.  And at the core of it, they’re going to see a story about a group of human beings who are up against impossible odds.”

Celebrate the music of best-known Philadelphia soul group of the 1970s as That’s Ntertainment Productions, in cooperation with ABS-CBN, present THE STYLISTICS Live in Manila happening on April 12, 2012, 8pm at Smart Araneta Coliseum.  Their special guests are Rico J. Puno and Elizabeth Ramsey.

The Stylistics have been recording and touring for almost forty years and enjoyed twelve straight Top 10 hits from 1971-1974. These include their stellar debut"Betcha by Golly, Wow", "Stop, Look, Listen (To Your Heart)", "You Are Everything", "I'm Stone in Love with You", "Break Up to Make Up", and the shimmering sweet soul ballad "You Make Me Feel Brand New". Their early 70s work with producer Thom Bell and his collaborator, lyricist Linda Creed yielded some of the most popular love songs of that era.

The whole day event will let them go around the properties and also checking out their facilities. Though we were not the actual participants, we went around the properties to see the beauty and fun within the Islands. With hectares of land with great landscapes and homes to facilities, there will be no reason for the photographers to capture moments and breathtaking backgrounds.

Caribe at the Islands is inspired with the tropical living as its name came from the Caribbean.  While Amalfi is more European with a high influence of Spanish feel and architecture. There is also  Camella Homes Dasma offers affordable family living varieties with great amenities and location. There is also St. Paul College Islands Park in the middle of the Islands properties, thus making school not very far from home. The Islands Commercial and Mango Grove is also a great place for recreation and events and situated in the middle of them all.

Among all of the great properties, there is indeed a place for everyone, for small and practical families, people who want to have a feel of European living, or even a tropical one can be found here. With a nearby school, near to major roads and also commercial establishments soon to open, it a perfect getaway every time you go home.  As I am actually considering of investing a property in the south, the Islands is my top pick!

VISITA IGLESIA DIARIES 2012 (PART1)

Like I have experienced, the journey of 14 churches for Visita Iglesia is better as a personal retreat with God. The tradition has been popular with Pinoys because its provide a chance to  travel during the Holy week especially when malls are closed and there is no regular programming on TV.  It's actually a great time to bond with family and friends this week. 


As my family are quite far from me, I usually go visita iglesia on my own for the past few years now and for this journey, I made another Visita Iglesia Diaries dedicated for this holy week. 

VISITA IGLESIA DIARIES 2012 (PART2)

For this second half, the churches might be sometimes close to each other, the feel and experience with each of them is really different though there are all i just one city. the feel of each one is one of a kind and makes you want to kneel down and pray. As most of the churches are indeed nearby, my feet are also getting tired as well as my knee from walking at distances with also a difficult terrain that could injure the feet.


The whole trip was tiring but at same time, very touching as each step and sight gives more than just history but also a more meaningful message.
