GMA Network celebrates Yuletide magic

All things are possible if we believe in the magic that the Yuletide season brings. This is what GMA Network tells its viewers in its Christmas campaign this year dubbed, "Walang Imposible Sa Pasko ng Kapuso," which premiers on Monday, November 5 in 24 Oras.

Through four equally heartwarming vignettes, the Kapuso Station takes viewers to a special place where dreams become a reality if one will only believe in the true meaning of the Season.

Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid gets intimate with her guests, new moms Katrina Halili and Sunshine Dizon, this Saturday on GMA’s most entertaining food show, Sarap Diva! 

Baby Nate Alcasid’s first birthday party is fast approaching and a party is already underway! And both Katrina and Sunshine will share their favorite dessert recipes for Baby Nate’s celebration. 

Aside from her Nutty Coated Crunchie and Banana Sampler recipes, Sunshine will also share her real-life experiences in raising her two babies, while Katrina will speak about her entertaining and challenging experiences in raising baby Katrence with her partner Kris Lawrence. The three new moms will share stories and honest reactions to the criticism that they get about their weight, how they are currently working on getting back into shape, and their future plans as new mothers.

“Bully” film to launch anti-bullying campaign

The Jesuit Basic Education Commission (JBEC), in cooperation with Solar Entertainment, is bringing the acclaimed documentary “Bully” to the Philippines. The film, directed by Lee Hirsch, will have a limited theatrical run in November, after the by-invitation premiere on November 13, 6:30 PM, at Robinson’s Galleria Cinema 4. 

The film focuses on the alarming rise in bullying faced by teenage students in America. It chronicles the experiences of victims in high schools in Georgia, Iowa, Texas, Mississippi, and Oklahoma, focusing on the cases of Tyler Long and Ty Smalley, both of which tragically ended in suicide. 

JBEC will use this powerful documentary to launch the anti-bullying campaign, “Not in Our School,” endorsed by the popular sportsman, Chris Tiu.  The advocacy is aligned with the DepEd’s Child Protection Policy which seeks to defend the student from any form of abuse, including bullying. In light of recent local and international headlines about bullying, this film can be a timely wake-up call for all involved: parents, teachers, administrators, and especially students.
