These were the possibilities Pepsi Cola Products Philippines Inc. (PCPPI) and the University Philippines Advertising Core (UP AdCore) sought to challenge in this year's iteration of the annual Teenspeak competition—"Start with a Sip."

"We've done lots activities and initiatives for children like our annual Brigada Eskwela project and this time we've set our sights on building up the youth through this competition."  

Korean Idol Henry Lau Now a Hollywood Star with "A Dog's Journey"

K-Pop idol and member of the world-renowned Super Junior-M Henry Lau makes his Hollywood feature film debut in Universal Pictures’ feel-good drama A Dog’s Journey, the sequel to the heartwarming global hit A Dog’s Purpose.

Lau plays Trent, the best friend of the film’s female lead, CJ (Kathryn Prescott).  In the film, beloved dog Bailey finds his new destiny and forms an unbreakable bond with CJ and Trent that will lead him, and the people he loves, to places they never imagined.

The Korean superstar was impressed by the level with which director Gail Mancuso asked him to develop his character.

MUSICA FEUROPA Choral Competition On May 25-26

MUSICA FEUROPA, Far Eastern University’s annual choral competition and festival with the European Union in the Philippines as its principal partner, grows in size and stature every year.

The key criterion of MUSICA FEUROPA is that each choir has to perform two songs: one song of their choice written in an official European Union language, and one piece written in any Filipino Language.

From just four choirs in 2009 mostly from the City of Manila, the number rose to an all-time high of thirty one choirs hailing from all over the Philippines. What used to be a competition for college choirs expanded to two categories: High School and Open including but not limited to university, church, company, government and other ensembles. Musica FEUROPA has become one of the definitive choral competitions in the Philippines.

Who does not want free wifi? But in the first place it is very rare to have that in public spaces like parks, libraries, schools and public offices. There is also the issue of poor internet speeds that affects productivity and quality.

These are some of the concerns that FICTAP partylist (Federation of International Cable TV and Telecommunications Association of the Philippines) wants to author if given a seat in congress. The partylist was formed by cable TV operators of the Philippines who actively lobbied for policies for cable regulation which took them years since they depend on supporter legislators. They hope to push for laws related to telecomunication, internet, and cellular consumer rights at a faster pace if elected. With a wide network of operators from urban and rural areas, they saw the opportunity to present laws that will lead to their vision of “Bawat Pilipino, konektado” (Every Filipino is connected).

Joyette Jopson Blazes In Victory At The North Pole Marathon

A few weeks ago, we bid good luck to Joyette Jopson on her journey going to the North Pole.  A Triatlete, and Ironman Champion, and most of all a FWD Financial Wealth Officer, she was the perfect candidate to represent FWD Philippines, women, and the country to one of the most challenging marathons on earth. She trained long and hard with the help of her "squad" that includes mountaineer Romi Garduce,  and Asian Games Gold Medalist Margielyn Didal. 

The 42-kilometer FWD ‘78° North’ Marathon was held near the North Pole on April 16  at Longyearbyen, Svalbard located in the north most island group of Norway. It is known for its rugged, remote terrain of glaciers and frozen tundra sheltering polar bears, Svalbard reindeer and Arctic foxes. She joins the FWD Team Asia  that comprises of members coming from Hong Kong, Japan, Vietnam, and Thailand.
