HBO Original Drama Series Dune: Prophecy Begins Production On Season Two

New Cast Indira Varma, Ashley Walters, And Tom Hollander Announced

Production has commenced on the eight-episode second season of HBO Original drama series Dune: Prophecy, from Showrunner Alison Schapker. Filming is taking place in Hungary, Jordan, and Spain. Season one received four Emmy® nominations this year.

From the expansive universe of Dune, created by acclaimed author Frank Herbert, and 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, Dune: Prophecy follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled order that will become known as the Bene Gesserit.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer (Venom, Uncharted, Zombieland), the film reunites the Four Horsemen, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco with Morgan Freeman as mentor Thaddeus Bradley. Joining them are the young illusionists Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt, along with Rosamund Pike as the cunning and powerful villain, Veronika Vanderberg.

A decade later, after the Four Horsemen vanished from the public eye, three talented young illusionists;  Charlie (Justice Smith), June (Ariana Greenblatt), and Bosco (Dominic Sessa) quietly followed in their heroes’ footsteps, performing underground shows and daring street performances. Their acts became too public online that they caught the attention of J. Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), the leader of the original Four Horsemen.

Played by three actresses; Lovi Poe, Elora Españo, and Gina Pareno, it shows the different points of her life which were filled with struggles and tragedies from the Philippine revolution to the American commonwealth. It also includes great actors like Rocco Nacino who plays Andres Bonifacio, Paulo Avelino is Julio Nakpil, and the late Spanky Manikan is the older Julio Nakpil.
