Universal Pictures has just launched an announcement video and poster heralding the 2018 Valentine’s Day opening of Fifty Shades Freed.


Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson return as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades Freed, the third chapter based on the worldwide bestselling Fifty Shades phenomenon. Expanding upon events set in motion in 2015 and 2017’s blockbuster films that grossed almost $950 million globally, the new installment arrives for Valentine’s Day 2018.

Fifty Shades Freed is directed by Fifty Shades Darker’s James Foley (Fear, House of Cards) and once again produced by Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti and Marcus Viscidi, alongside E L James, the creator of the culture-spanning blockbuster series. The screenplay is by Niall Leonard, based on the novel by James.

Fifty Shades Freed is distributed by United International Pictures through Columbia Pictures.

New Line Cinema's "IT" a Monster Hit at PH Box-Office

New Line Cinema’s IT, the critically lauded big-screen adaptation of Stephen King’s perennial best seller, floated to the top of the Philippine box office on its opening weekend, earning P50.18-million across 213 cinemas, and still climbing.

Directed by Andy Muschietti (Mama), the much-anticipated horror thriller has surpassed the opening figures of recent horror blockbusters, The Conjuring (P39-M) and Lights Out (P36.7-M).

In making the announcement, Francis Soliven, General Manager, Warner Bros. Philippines, said, “IT is the film that everyone is talking about, whether fans of the genre or not, driving moviegoers across the country to brave the cinema for their own encounter with Pennywise. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the results, and congratulate New Line Cinema, director Andy Muschietti and his phenomenal cast and crew on this fantastic opening.”

Coca-Cola partners with Congressman Nograles for STAR Program in Davao City

Coca-Cola Philippines and Davao City 1st District Representative, Congressman Karlo Nograles, entered into a Memorandum of Agreement to expand the implementation of the Sari-sari Store Training and Access to Resources (STAR) Program to the women small business owners in the area.

The Coca-Cola 5by20 STAR Program is designed for women micro-entrepreneurs who own and manage sari-sari stores or carinderias, with the goal of addressing the barriers they face by providing an enabling environment for business success. The STAR Program has three components: access to training, access to resources, and access to peer mentoring. The STAR Program is implemented in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and reputable microfinance institutions and cooperatives operating at the regional level.

“Love You to the Stars and Back” showing in Australia and New Zealand on September 14

The Philippines’ breakthrough love team of Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto returns to the big screen for another exciting chapter of their blockbuster tandem in Star Cinema’s upcoming romantic-comedy entitled, ”Love You To The Stars And Back” screening in Australia and New Zealand starting September 14 via TFC@theMovies.

Written and directed by Antoinette Jadaone, who is widely recognized for changing the film landscape by introducing the ‘hugot’ or feels genre in “That Thing Called Tadhana”, ”Love You to the Stars and Back” is the much-awaited follow-up movie of Garcia and Barretto since they first teamed up in their Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2016 entry ,”Vince And Kath And James”. 


The story is centered on an eccentric and socially awkward girl, Mika (Barretto), who decides to go on a road trip with a very strange goal --– to look for aliens. In her trip, Mika accidentally bumps into a simple and good-humored boy, Caloy (Garcia), whom she chooses to give a free ride until he reaches his destination. Mika and Caloy get to know each other as the two embark on a road trip filled with adventures and misadventures. In the process, the two unexpectedly teach each other an important lesson on love and life --– one that takes most people a lifetime to learn.
