After entering the highly saturated global market in 2018 and since achieving the 100 million sales milestone in 2021, realme has continued to leap forward against all odds and announced that its global smartphone shipments have surpassed 200 million units.

Ridley Scott’s “Napoleon” conquers box office on its global opening weekend

Director Ridley Scott’s action epic Napoleon has reigned supreme at the box office, exceeding expectations with a victorious $78.8 million gross on its global opening weekend, including $46.3 million from international markets. 

Starring Joaquin Phoenix as the famed French emperor, and Vanessa Kirby as his wife Josephine, the film debuted at No. 1 in France, the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy. Napoleon has yet to open in most parts of Asia, including the Philippines, where it will open November 29.

Asian Persuasion - Fixing Love with Asian Suave

Award winning producer Jhett Tolentino makes his commercial directorial debut with something close to his heart and roots with Asian Persuasion starring KC Concepcion, Dante Basco, Paolo Montalban, and Kevin Krieder and written by Mike Ang. This film has also been part of the San Diego Film Festival 2023, and also won Audience Choice Award at the Soho International Film Fest.

This is also a comeback to the big screen by KC Concepcion who has been in and out of the country yet has not made any new series or movies recently which made her fans miss her more. She is paired with two charismatic Filipino American actors Dante Basco, and Paolo Montalban in a intriguing complication of love, dreams and friendship.

KC plays Avery, who is divorced to Dante's character Mickey and tries to set her up with a new relationship with a man named Lee (Paolo Montalban) and is accompliced by his best friend Caspian (Kevin Krieder). But things don't go as planned when Mickey realizes he still loves her.

Replacing Chef Chico - Stories of Food, Love, and Fire

I was surprised that Netflix has not yet have their own original Filipino series until now with the release of Replacing Chef Chico which stars Piolo Pascual, Alessandra De Rossi, and Sam Milby. This series is directed by Dan Villegas and written by Antoinette Jadaone brings food and love in 8-episode course.

We might recall several similar series or movies with the theme of the show, yet it does stand out with how it plays with the premise of romance, Filipino food, and the ensemble that contributes to the flavor of the show. 

The show shares the story of the restaurant named Hain and how the head chef Chico (Sam Milby) struggles to keep it afloat and to prove itself as one of the best restaurants in Asia. His sous chef Ella (Alessandra) tries her best to serve the best story-inspired dishes which Hain is known for. Raymond (Piolo) comes as a consultant of the restaurant to observe and help Hain to regain its glory.
