Warfare of Hunters and Preys in "The White Dragons"

“The White Dragons” inventively tweaks Herman Melville’s “Moby Dick” where director Ryan Little reignites the classic tale like never before in this explosive action epic adventure.

The story takes us to medieval times when dragons are being hunted for the vitriol that powers the human world and where Ishmael (played by Corey Sevier) and his trusted friend Queequeg (Kepa Kruse) lead a crew of dragon hunters.   The much sought after vitriol is a highly explosive liquid substance found inside the dragons, giving life and power to the mythical realm they live in.  Their Captain’s adopted daughter Rachel (Sofia Pernas) joins them in their quest.  Believing that the family of her father had been slaughtered by dragons, Rachel’s untiring quest to annihilate the last living dragon soon finds out the darkest secrets of her kingdom in the White Dragon’s lair.

REEL DEAL: Bayang Magiliw REVIEW

Indie Movies were originally made to push advocacy, but with many of the "Indies" going mainstream and becomes a mix with the commercial films, you may wonder where are the original advocacy films. This is what the pro-RH movie BAYANG MAGILIW is all about. To tell you honestly, I'm not really a RH advocate and thought that the movie was a musical, but it gives a justified portrayal of issue revolving about the controversial bill.

Bayang Magiliw tells the story of a town in Quezon called Magiliw where Reproductive Health is considered a serious crime. Magiliw is the country’s most densely populated city next to Metro Manila. It is headed by a mayor who is secretly a womanizer and has already fathered a lot of illegitimate children.

Two incidents cause a chain of events that will rock Magiliw. One day an old aristocratic couple from Magiliw finds an abandoned baby boy and decided to nurture him. Their daughter, a corporate lawyer based in Manila adopted the abandoned baby boy. Later on, trouble ensues after the mayor found out that the baby boy is his illegitimate child. The other incident involves a local OB-gyne who was sent to jail for prescribing contraceptives to the women of Magiliw. Not long enough, the doctor meets the corporate lawyer and together they fought against the mayor.

Upon his release he is ready to leave his criminal past behind and try to rebuild a relationship with his estranged daughter Allison. The FBI and his old cohorts believe that he hid the loot from the last heist 8 years ago, $10 Million in Bonds. REEL DEAL: Chernobyl Diaries REVIEW

Even after 25 years after the ill-fated Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant Fallout, there are still a lot of things that haunt the imagination of the many people. The Ukrainian Government allowed people to visit the town near Chernobyl a few years ago as radiation levels have gone down. This gave way to come up with a great thriller story about the deserted area.

"Chernobyl Diaries" is an original story from Oren Peli, who first terrified audiences with his groundbreaking thriller, "Paranormal Activity." The film follows a group of six young tourists who, looking to go off the beaten path, hire an "extreme tour" guide. Ignoring warnings, he takes them into the city of Pripyat, the former home to the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor, but a deserted town since the disaster more than 25 years ago. After a brief exploration of the abandoned city, however, the group soon finds themselves stranded, only to discover that they are not alone...

REEL DEAL: Dead Mine REVIEW (SM CinExlusive)

Asian Movies are leveling up to Hollywood standards and does not want to be left out. And for this year, HBO Asia produced their first movie together with Infinite Studios,  DEAD MINE. Bringing together international actors in the region is an exciting mix.

This movie gives a different twist to the infamous Yamashita Treasure that is (still) searched here in the Philippines, makes it way to the islands of Sulawesi in Indonesia. As a team of explorers and soldiers go on this quest, they found a very morbid truth inside an abandoned mine.

Dead Mine features mostly Indonesian actors like Ario Bayu, Bang Tigor, Joe Taslim and Mike Lewis which some played in another SM CinExlcusive The Raid Redemption. Other cast members are Mike Lewis, Carmen Soo and Les Loveday, Jimmy T, Sam Hazeldine and Miki Mizuno.

REEL DEAL: V/H/S REVIEW

A group of criminals scour a secluded country home for a mysterious videotape, and bear witness to scenes of unimaginable terror in this found-footage-style anthology horror film featuring segments from Glenn McQuaid (I Sell the Dead), Ti West (House of the Devil), Joe Swanberg (Silver Bullets), David Bruckner (The Signal), Adam Wingard (You're Next, and Radio Silence).

It seemed like a simple job; all they needed to do was enter the home, find the videotape, and deliver it to their boss. But from the moment they arrived, a sinister tension descended. Gaining access to the house, the young thugs discover a rotting corpse amidst a collection of vintage television sets, and stockpiles of VHS tapes.

Somewhere amidst the stacks is the tape they seek, but with each new video they watch, the dread continues to build. The sights that they witness are too horrible for words, but the greatest shock is yet to come.

A new Dragon Inn has risen from the ashes, staffed by a band of marauders. Masquerading as law-abiding citizens by day, they use the cover of night to continue their true calling as fortune hunters. Now, Ming Dynasty general Chow Wai-On (Jet Li) clashes with nefarious eunuch Yu Hua-Tian (Chen Kun), but the real action begins when the feuding pair encounter Lin Yan-Qiu (Zhou Xun) at a secluded desert outpost known as the Dragon Gate Inn.
