On The Set of Inamorata

GMA Afternoon Prime has a lot of new shows this year, and one of them is Inamorata starring Max Collins, Dion Ignacio, Luis Alandy, Jackie Rice and Gwen Zamora. "Innamorata" means My Love in Italian and made with intersting mix of Kapuso stars who have proven their prowress with shows in the Afternoon block such as Maghihintay Pa rin, Bukod Kang Pinagpala etc. 

Inamorata tells the story of Esperanza who suffers from porphyria (a genetic disorder that develops blisters, itching, and swelling of the skin specifically when exposed to sunlight),  but still has a good heart despite of the taunts, discrimination of the people around her especially her stepmother. Despite her appearance, we was loved by Edwin who is the son of the owner of the shoe factory she is working. She then is displaced and was also removed from her job but is helped by her childhood friend Dencio. 


She finds a ruby necklace in the music box which was given to her. She then transforms into a beautiful lady similar to her grandmother Alejandra when she wears it, but it makes the picture of her grandmother deteriorate. The question now is will Esperanza continue using the necklace to be beautiful or will there be grave consequences with its use.


This afternoon drama which has a touch of fantasy is gaining ground as one of the shows that are rising in rating  in the time slot according to several surveys. On the set, we were able to interview the main cast namely Max Collins, Dion Ignacio, Luis Alandy, and Jackie Rice.

Max Collins who came to the Kapuso Network in 2012 yet Innamorata is where she is launched as the lead actress. She was also part of shows such as Coffee Prince, With A Smile and Wagas. She was also part of the movie "Bamboo Flowers" by Mario J Delos Reyes starring Ruru Madrid.

Luis Alandy, who is a seasoned actor has remained active in the showbiz industry and taking a lot of roles which made him a versatile actor through the years. For Innamorata, he plays the role of Edwin Mananzala, who falls in love with Esperanza and gave her the music box. He still has that charm of his youth even being paired with a younger generation of actors.

Dion Ignacio who is a starstruck avenger and fresh from his previous teleserye Maghihintay Pa Rin plays the role of Dencio, Esperanza's best friend. Dion expressed his interest in reinventing himself including his wish to be part of the Cosmopolitan Top 69 Bachelors.

Jackie Rice plays Gina, also as starstruck alumnus has been thankful for the projects she is involved in, and Innamorata is one of them. Though she is rarely seen to have leading roles, she said that she is more focused in her craft to make her a versatile actress. And true enough, she has been in many soaps and still active in showbiz.  

With ratings climbing and more viewers getting hooked, Inamorata bring a new flavor for the haponseryes. Innamorata is directed by Don Michael Perez and part of the Afternoon Prime after Villa Quintana on GMA.
