Everyone's Excited For The Mister World Finals In Manila

Happening this week is the finals of the Mister World 2019 that will be held here in the Philippines for the first time. The event brings in a total of 72 delegates from around the world vying for the title of 'The world's most desirable man'.

The finals will be happening at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on August 23. The competition, was created by Miss World Organization Julia Morley started in 1996. This year's competition will be the tenth edition since its establishment with the last competition was held in 2016.


She said, "We are excited to be here in the Philippines with representatives from around the world. Over the next couple of weeks, the contestants will take part in a number of challenges that test the true qualities of a man. We have had such a wonderful welcome from the Filipino people, and we are looking forward to getting to know them better, taste the local food and understand the culture. 


Following their arrival in Manila 3 weeks before the finals, they will be also undergoing a series of challenges that will test various aspects of themselves like in physical, intellectual, talent, and style.

For the Mr World challenge events, contestants will face these challenges:


  • The Extreme challenge will put contestants through their paces at the Special Action Force (SAF) commando training school in Santa Rosa, Laguna province. Living in tents, the contestants will face their toughest test of physical strength and endurance 
  • The Sports challenge is a test of skill, discipline and athleticism 
  • Talent & Creativity is about a contestants finesse, technique and their dedication as they take to the stage to impress the judges 
  • Fashion looks at the men getting it right in the style stakes Multimedia looks at their charisma and how contestants present themselves and how they engage and interact with an online audience 
12 Countries also made a debut for this year. They are Armenia, Bangladesh,  Cambodia, Cameroon, Ecuador,  Equatorial Guinea,  Finland, Mauritius, Myanmar, Samoa, Sierra Leone, Sint Maarten, South Sudan, and Tonga. Proudly representing the Philippines is Jody Baines Tejano Saliba who won the Mister World Philippines last year, gears up to be at par with the other contestants and hopes to get the first title for the country.

The reigning Mr. World Rohit Khandelwal from India will be at the finals to formally pass the crown. Miss World 2018 Vanessa Ponce of Mexico also came to Manila with Julia Morley for the press presentation and shares her delight of being in the Philippines for the first time and also looking forward to the upcoming Miss World 2019.
