Octavia Spender Reunites with "The Help" Director for "Ma"

The Oscar-winning combination of director Tate Taylor and Octavia Spencer (The Help) is reunited in Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions’ new suspense thriller Ma.

Anchored by a daring and unexpected performance from Spencer, Ma is produced and directed by Taylor, the writer/director of Academy Award® Best Picture nominee The Help, the James Brown biopic Get on Up, and the riveting psychological thriller The Girl on the Train.

After making her acting debut in M. Night Shyamalan’s No.1 box-office hit Glass opposite James McAvoy and Bruce Willis, teen actress Diana Silvers stars in Universal Pictures’ new suspense thriller Ma (in Philippine cinemas July 10).

From Blumhouse Productions—the company that has produced such smash hits as Get Out, Split, Glass, Halloween and The Purge franchise — Ma tells the unnerving tale of a mysterious, lonely woman named Sue Ann (Octavia Spencer) who seems harmless at first. Friendly but stern, she offers safe harbor to a group of high-school friends looking to party. But Sue Ann is a woman tormented by demons and trauma from her past, and, unbeknownst to her teen guests, she has a more sinister agenda than anyone suspects.

Luke Evans Dives Deep in the Twisted Tale of "Ma"

Luke Evans starred as Gaston in Disney’s live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. The movie has grossed over $1.25 billion worldwide and has become one of the top 10-highest-grossing films of all time.  

He’s best known for playing Bard the Bowman, the hero of Peter Jackson’s multi-billion-dollar franchise, The Hobbit, as well as the title character in Universal’s Dracula Untold and Owen Shaw in Universal’s Fast & Furious franchise.

New Posters Arrive for "Gemini Man," "Ma" and "Rocketman"

United International Pictures has released the new one-sheet artworks for three of its highly anticipated films of the year -- the action-adventure Gemini Man, the suspense thriller Ma, and the Elton John biopic Rocketman.
