Superman (2025) - Time To Fly And Look Up

DC Studios’ Superman directed by James Gunn has the honor and pressure of being the first major film in the DC Studio Cinematic Universe. Having Superman as the first of the many DC reboots, the expectations were mixed due to the hit or miss success of the previous movies of the DCEU. Now we have a new Superman with David Corenswet which we also attended the world tour that kicked off here in Manila.

The hype was indeed there, though the question still is how the public will feel with this new iteration of the character that has become so complex, yet can be molded into a masterpiece when done right. We were again introduced to new faces of Lex Luthor, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, and more. Plus there is also a sample of a future Justice League with Hawkgirl, Green Lantern, and Mister Terrific.

The red trunks and the bright costumes are the least of my concerns in the movie as the story and legacy matters most to make this film iconic and retain in the hearts and minds of its viewers. Like Gunn’s previous works, It has his signature style of comedy along with the entertaining action scenes, and a scene that tries to be that iconic part of the movie.
