What has the Lambert family been up to since we last saw them in Insidious: Chapter 2?

When last we met the Lambert family, astral projectors Josh (Patrick Wilson) and Dalton (Ty Simpkins) had survived multiple trips into The Further. Dalton had been kidnapped by a demon… Josh had rescued him, only to be trapped in The Further while a ghost possesses his body in our world… that ghost, in Josh’s body, had rampaged through his house, trying to kill his family… and Dalton had ventured back into The Further to find his real father and bring him back.

Philippine horror fans flocked to Insidious: The Red Door on its opening day July 5 including unprecedented sold-out midnight screenings, scaring up a record-breaking P33,141,456 opening day gross.

This is the biggest opening day box office take for a theatrical release so far this year, remarkably outgrossing the first-day numbers of superhero blockbusters and epic action adventures, such as Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, John Wick: Chapter 4, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Fast X, The Little Mermaid, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. 

The opening day performance of Insidious: The Red Door, the latest and final installment in the fan-favorite franchise, also broke the record for biggest horror opening day of all time in the Philippines, besting the Day 1 numbers of the previously released Insidious films, as well as The Conjuring, IT and The Orphan movies, The Nun, Annabelle: Creation and local titles Deleter and Feng Shui.

The Philippines joined in the global dino-mania as local audiences marched to “Jurassic World” this weekend, pushing the action-adventure to a five-day opening weekend gross of P250.1-million. This was announced today by a spokesman of United International Pictures which distributed the film through Columbia Pictures.

Starring newly minted action superstar Chris Pratt, the movie takes place 22 years after the horrific events of the original “Jurassic Park” and is set on a fully functional park called Jurassic World.

The film's opening weekend gross represents the 2nd biggest June opening ever, eclipsing former No. 2 “Man of Steel” at P247-million. Reigning champion is still “Transformers: Age of Extinction” at P250.3-million, but only by a hair line. Over-all and all-time, “Jurassic World” now ranks as the 6th biggest opening weekend in the industry.

Steven Spielberg returns to executive produce the long-awaited next installment of his groundbreaking Jurassic Park series, “Jurassic World.” Colin Trevorrow directs the epic action-adventure from a screenplay he wrote with Derek Connolly. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley join the team as producers.
