THE STYLISTICS serenades Filipino fans at the Smart Araneta Coliseum

Celebrate the music of best-known Philadelphia soul group of the 1970s as That’s Ntertainment Productions, in cooperation with ABS-CBN, present THE STYLISTICS Live in Manila happening on April 12, 2012, 8pm at Smart Araneta Coliseum.  Their special guests are Rico J. Puno and Elizabeth Ramsey.

The Stylistics have been recording and touring for almost forty years and enjoyed twelve straight Top 10 hits from 1971-1974. These include their stellar debut"Betcha by Golly, Wow", "Stop, Look, Listen (To Your Heart)", "You Are Everything", "I'm Stone in Love with You", "Break Up to Make Up", and the shimmering sweet soul ballad "You Make Me Feel Brand New". Their early 70s work with producer Thom Bell and his collaborator, lyricist Linda Creed yielded some of the most popular love songs of that era.

The whole day event will let them go around the properties and also checking out their facilities. Though we were not the actual participants, we went around the properties to see the beauty and fun within the Islands. With hectares of land with great landscapes and homes to facilities, there will be no reason for the photographers to capture moments and breathtaking backgrounds.

Caribe at the Islands is inspired with the tropical living as its name came from the Caribbean.  While Amalfi is more European with a high influence of Spanish feel and architecture. There is also  Camella Homes Dasma offers affordable family living varieties with great amenities and location. There is also St. Paul College Islands Park in the middle of the Islands properties, thus making school not very far from home. The Islands Commercial and Mango Grove is also a great place for recreation and events and situated in the middle of them all.

Among all of the great properties, there is indeed a place for everyone, for small and practical families, people who want to have a feel of European living, or even a tropical one can be found here. With a nearby school, near to major roads and also commercial establishments soon to open, it a perfect getaway every time you go home.  As I am actually considering of investing a property in the south, the Islands is my top pick!

VISITA IGLESIA DIARIES 2012 (PART1)

Like I have experienced, the journey of 14 churches for Visita Iglesia is better as a personal retreat with God. The tradition has been popular with Pinoys because its provide a chance to  travel during the Holy week especially when malls are closed and there is no regular programming on TV.  It's actually a great time to bond with family and friends this week. 


As my family are quite far from me, I usually go visita iglesia on my own for the past few years now and for this journey, I made another Visita Iglesia Diaries dedicated for this holy week. 

VISITA IGLESIA DIARIES 2012 (PART2)

For this second half, the churches might be sometimes close to each other, the feel and experience with each of them is really different though there are all i just one city. the feel of each one is one of a kind and makes you want to kneel down and pray. As most of the churches are indeed nearby, my feet are also getting tired as well as my knee from walking at distances with also a difficult terrain that could injure the feet.


The whole trip was tiring but at same time, very touching as each step and sight gives more than just history but also a more meaningful message.

MUSIC LYF: Rebecca Ferguson

Rebecca Ferguson featuring the debut single “Nothing’s Real But Love”, debut album “Heaven” out soon

If pop music is infinitely surprising then the often circuitous route that brings a major star to our attention is surely exemplified in the wonderful Rebecca Ferguson.

Just over a year ago, this painfully shy, woefully under confident single mother of two was shown auditioning for The X Factor. In what is surely one of the best audition sequences ever shown on the programme, her story of dignified resignation – pregnant at 17, then again at 19, with no money and little hope – struck a chord with the nation. It seemed that this was a voice destined never to be heard. Then she opened her mouth and her stunningly raw rendition of Sam Cooke’s classic “A Change Is Gonna Come” set the bar on the show, oh, just a million miles higher….

It’s immaterial that she came second on the show – perhaps even preferable, as it has meant that the last year has allowed this Liverpudlian world-class singer/songwriter to hone her writing skills and to channel that remarkable soul voice into a selection of songs that will establish this 25 year old as the voice of her generation, and a global superstar.

MUSIC LYF: Smash TV Series Soundtrack

SOUNDTRACK OF NBC HIT “SMASH” SET FOR RELEASE IN MAY

Fan-Favorite Original Tunes and Covers to Be Included

NBC and Columbia Records announced that the soundtrack from the first season of NBC’s musical hit “Smash” will be released in May 2012. The soundtrack will be released in the Philippines by Ivory Music & Video, the exclusive licensee of Sony Music. 

The highly anticipated album will feature stars Katharine McPhee (Karen), Megan Hilty (Ivy Lynn) and other cast members performing the original music created for the show’s narrative and for the musical-within-a-musical.  The freshman series already has been renewed for a second season.

Highlighted on the album will be the Broadway-caliber songs written for the series by Tony and Grammy winners Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. The “Smash” album will also include some of the pop tunes that have been adapted for the show, such as Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful,” the show-stopping song that Karen sings so effectively for her audition that she is plucked, literally, from obscurity to audition for the musical’s starring role.  

VISITA INGLESIA DIARIES: The Journey Starts

This year I have gone on another Visita Iglesia tour on my own and this time I actually started at 4PM. Now the journey begins.

As we are in the Holy Week, malls are closed, a very long weekend and also a tricky weather I would pressume but this is also an opportunity for us to reflect, rest and also to temporarily  disconnect from our hectic lives. After Misa de Gallo Diaries, and Traslacion 2012, here I go again with my personal devotion and shared here in the blog. Today I start my Visita Iglesia Diaries. 

The journey starts today, I hope I would be able to share things and places of worship that others can also find inspiration in which I also did. So stay tuned and I hope to also bump into several friends along the way. For now, here are the videos I made last year for the Visita Iglesia back in 2011.
