Its time Barangay PILIPINAS, VOTE!

May bilog may bilog na hugis itlog...

It was just a few month after the first automated elections in the country, and now we have this for the local Barangay but unlike the promising system we went back to the manual counting since its on the smaller scale.  But what happened? There were a past problems that surfaced on this year's Barangay and Sanguniang Kabataan's election. Aside from the manual count of ballots. There are also series of violence and mass (and obvious) vote buying at this level! This does stink to think that there salary is not that extravagant to spend a lot of money and effort to hold position.

I did ask some people on what they think of the Sanguniang Kabataan, if they are worth keeping or not. And unanimously, all of them agreed to remove them from the structure since they dont provide sufficient and long term benefit to the youth of the Barangay. If ever they would it would be really really rare. My cousin ran and won as SK chairwoman and now my niece is running for Kagawad. I don't expect that they will do good or bad, but to think that it more of a bane than a boon.

But one thing is for sure for now, if there are still a lot of problem in the roots (Barangays), absolutely there is the problem of the whole society. We oust people in higher positions yet on our local levels we have people who do similar and unlawful ways. Changes must come from the grassroots itself and after that the country will.

If you have voted to the candidate worthy of you vote, do so.
If have not, due to infinite list of reasons, just try to do what is right and follow the law.
We are the only nation that have this system in the government,
now lets prove that this is worth keeping for.

FUNKY Bowling at SM!

Its my first time to bowl...
what happened? read on...

Bowling has been a very old sport which dates back to the times of kings and queens. And as time passes, bowling rules did not change that much but only the type of competition and scoring. You can just roll the ball into ten pins and knock them off, seems easy to some, yet a challenge for many. But there is only a standard in bowling that is to roll the ball into the paved aisle and thats it. It might have grew to be a boring sport because the mechanics were too simple. Now comes the juicy part... Now to put a whole new twist to the rolling and bowling game is what thy call FUNKY BOWLING. This style changes and challenges the players, both professionals and amateurs, to get that strike. Have you tried to bowl between your knees? How about bowling while kneeling? being blindfolded? Or even with your feet?  We got to experience this type of game at SM Bowling center at the Mall of Asia. It was definitely a night to remember with the lanes that have the disco feel and neon colored balls that glow in the dark!

What I know that there are pro and first timers (like me) who went there and tried out this new style.  I got the position to bowl in between the legs and also bowl between the legs standing on the aisle. Looks easy but the tragic thing is I never even got to take down a single pin! EPIC FAIL indeed! However, the night was really fun as also others were struggling to get a strike at their positions. Yes, it will be a memorable day for me for failing to strike or bowl a pin down (even a single one!) on my first time to bowl but really had fun with blogger friends.
You might also try to get into the bowling alley to try this one. SM bowling center will also have its Halloween funky bowling this October. Enjoy free face painting, Wii, Rockband, photo booth, trick or drink, and many many more! For more info check out their fan page.

ROSARIO DAWSON IS UNSTOPPABLE IN A MAN’S WORLD

Inspired by actual events, “Unstoppable” is an adrenaline rush fueled by director Tony Scott’s signature mark of propulsive action rooted in the reality of ordinary people placed in extraordinary circumstances. A veteran train engineer (Denzel Washington) and a young conductor (Chris Pine) race the clock to stop an unmanned runaway train – effectively a missile the size of a skyscraper -- and prevent disaster in a heavily populated area.

As Frank and Will face imminent danger, their one solace is the voice of Yardmaster Connie Hooper (Rosario Dawson) over the radio. Stationed back at Mingo Yard, where the runaway locomotive began as a simple coaster, Connie is a voice of reason and direction throughout the chaos. “Connie represents a different face of the railroad,” says screenwriter Bomback. “She is someone who could eventually become part of the executive ranks because she’s extremely capable and used railroading as an opportunity to take control of her fate.”
“Connie is a strong woman,” says actress Rosario Dawson. “She is confident and assertive without being arrogant or bitchy which is an absolute necessity if you want to be successful in a traditionally male role. The train yard is definitely a man’s world.”
“It was a challenge to make sure that Connie’s voice could be heard by all the men around her,” she continues. “Not just the men she supervises, but also the corporate executives. She has to be heard and accepted because lives are always at stake in her job.”

Even before Connie learns that a train has left her yard unmanned that brisk morning, her day is off to a less than stellar start. As she arrives late for work, she encounters an insipid safety inspector from the Federal Railroad Administration sent to assist her in hosting a field trip of elementary school children learning about train safety, a time-consuming endeavor about which she is wholly unenthusiastic. When the assistant yardmaster finds humor in her misery, she’s further discouraged and realizes this day is going to be particularly long. If she only knew.

“She’s the voice of reason in very dramatic circumstances,” adds Dawson. “Even though she has to follow the protocol outlined in some dusty manual, she has to get a grip, think on her feet and move forward and make decisions with a confidence she doesn’t necessarily have when it comes to a train the size of the Chrysler Building moving like a missile into dense population.”
All three lead actors admit that the unstoppable train – the 777 – steals every scene. “The 777 is the real star of the movie,” says Washington. “It’s the shark in ‘Jaws.’ It’s the monster in the room that’s going to destroy people, towns -- anything and everything in its path. Chris Pine and I are just side men. It’s all about the train, that’s why it’s called Unstoppable.”

“Connie and her team back at the Yardstation are looking at a wall of blinking lights,” explains Dawson. “Every one of those lights is someone’s home, a farm, a school, a business. Frank and Will are out there watching the actual houses and businesses blur past them. They’re driving backwards down the track in a train that’s rattling so much it’s almost falling apart. But they don’t need us to be scared for them; they need us to provide information so that they can make educated choices. Each group has its vision of what it’s experiencing and it’s only by communicating that the two worlds blend.”

Dawson (Yardmaster Connie Hooper) has garnered praise for her numerous leading roles with today’s hottest film actors and directors, making her one of Hollywood’s most sought after leading ladies. Dawson received a Satellite Award for her performance as Mimi Marquez in the film “Rent.” She was honored again in 2007 at ShoWest, where she was named Supporting Actress of the Year.

Recently awarded as Best Actress in a Motion Picture at the 2009 NAACP Image Awards for her performance in “Seven Pounds” (opposite Will Smith) and the Half-Life Award at the 2008 Cine Vegas International Film Festival alongside Don Cheadle, Viggo Mortensen and Sam Rockwell, Dawson’s other notable films include the hit teen movie “Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief,” “Eagle Eye,” “Killshot,” “Grindhouse,” “Death Proof,” “A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints,” “Alexander,” “Shattered Glass,” “25th Hour,” “He Got Game” and “Men in Black 2.”
“Unstoppable” opens November 12 (Friday) in theaters nationwide from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

REEL DEAL: The Social Network

What goes on in the mind of the youngest billionaire in the world? Cause I wanna be a billionaire so freakin' bad! Facebook as the biggest social network in the world had made its mark in history for it revolutionize the new age internet. Now, the most interesting thing is its founders and co-founders. The bright minds that came from Harvard University, not even in their 30's made a revolution that swept the world.

Although it is not a biography of the acclaimed billionaire, it does shows the start of the multi-billion dollar internet site from college houses that host only a few people. The real test here is friendship that has been shattered by ambitions and most of all money. Kinda ironic that the site promotes good will and friendship is what you will see is the opposite.

Pretty interesting things were actually facts (you can just search that if they are true), and even if you don't have the mind of Zuckerberg. You will 'like' this and know that its not always the grown ups (I mean the seniors) who is the only rich and freaky. Justin Timberlake played Sean Parker, the founder of napster. And the future spiderman (Andrew Garfield) also made a perfect fit with Mark Z.(Jesse Eisenberg). Another thing to watch out for is Disney talent Branda Song, she made a made a big transformation here. Not really of the family movie, but will make you write an inspired profile status. So be a fan!

Deliberation time kids!

Blog Action Day YO H20! (Blah blah bogs special edition)

Yo! H2O

Yeah, as a living person, you should, I mean you must already know the importance of water for yo and to the whole world. Without it, we all die, as in all living creatures. Its the main component that helped us to evolve. It shaped the great continents and formed nations. Its the reason why we have rain, snow, haze, fog and even storms. It nurtured the plants and animals that we humans change into our own food, going into many processes and finally to you.

Now even with our wastes, water also takes care of that. From cleaning our bodies to help decompose organic materials and using them as a nutrient for plants and animals, the endless cycle is what brought us here to this time. Now, the bad thing is, as humans progress, we also neglect the value of water. In poor and undeveloped nations and remote areas, water is scarce and even expensive. Many people die due to dehydration and other water related incidents than war. So it had also been an endless battle for us to make this necessity available for all and most of all safe.

Now, the problem is many of our people today have lost the value of water to our daily lives and also made the worst pollution of it. Now how are you as a person is doing your share? Don't look to big companies if you don't looked at yourself and also realize that you are also a contributor to  this mess. I know I have, yet I keep on looking at all that I can to be more of a water solution contributor than a waster, which does not sound right, yet it calls for action from us to do what WE can do. We do have people who can work on those large cases. And if everybody in the world would follow this. Everything good will be followed. Like water that flows, we must also be moved to change our world.

You know the drill, yet you might be hesitant or just plain lazy...
like stagnant water, bugs will hatch there and ruin your life...
