As you all know that I am shifting into YouTube video with concepts that are waiting to be filmed. And getting into the YouTube culture is growing into me as a blogger and YouTuber. Now when they announced that the YouTube Fan Fest will be held here in Manila, I was deeply excited. It will be a big conference of the biggest YouTubers in the Philippines and in the world.
YouTube FanFest was an event that gives fans the unique opportunity to meet their internet heroes in person. First launched in Singapore in May 2013, YouTube FanFest has since taken Asia-Pacific by storm. The YouTube FanFest 2015 tour kicked off in Mumbai in February, before lighting up Singapore and Thailand this past May.
“#BringYouTuberstoManila is the latest illustration of how much Filipinos love YouTube. Fans spoke up and we listened. By bringing YouTube Fanfest to Manila for the first time in a couple of weeks, we hope to give YouTube creators and Filipino fans a new way to connect and celebrate the content they’re passionate about,” said Ryan Morales, Country Marketing Manager of Google Philippines.
The stellar line-up for the inaugural YouTube FanFest Philippines featured a mix of talented international creators including Bethany Mota, Kurt Hugo Schneider, Thatcher Joe, AJ Rafael, as well as local sensations Lloyd Cafe Cadena, Donnalyn Bartolome, and Abra, among others. The international creators will be flown in by YouTube FanFest’s official airline partner, Philippine Airlines.
“We are thrilled to be able to add Manila to the global YouTube FanFest map. With some of the most passionate and the noisiest fans on the planet, this is going to be epic!” said Jasper Donat, CEO of Branded Ltd., YouTube FanFest Co-Producer.
The two days where indeed made for YouTubers and Fans alike. The first day was a meet and greet which was swarmed by many fans. And with the number of YouTube Celebrities, the venue attracted fans and even brought friends who also share their love for their favorite creators.
Then the main concert was held at the newest hall of Marriott Manila, The Grand Ballroom which showcases the roster of the stars and gives them the time to showcase their talents and even their punchlines.
Love has been shown to both local and foreign acts, and sometimes there was also a collaboration of the two worlds which made the event more interesting. The screams of the fans are truly a audible sign that they are loved, and they will never get tired of supporting them.
I also came across two Pinoy YT Stars Erwan Heusaff and Bogart The Explorer which I have featured in the #SlumBookSeries (unfortunately, Bogart's video was corrupted T____T ). But nevertheless, it was an experience that I will never forget, especially as a YouTuber myself, it was an inspiring moment to continue in what I do and strive to do better. Who knows, I might be on next year's list for the second YouTube Fan Fest.
