Mark Lapid Continues Vision For TIEZA

Many would not notice but it is an integral part of Philippine tourism and development is the support and leadership that comes from TIEZA (Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority) which is led by Mark Lapid who has been appointed by two previous administrations  showing confidence in his work and leadership for the institution.

Mark Lapid has also shown his experience having been the previous governor of Pampanga and now as TIEZA's chief wants to push tourism further with projects that is badly needed as tourism for local and international is a growing industry. He knows that there are a lot things needed to be done especially with airports which is the key access points for tourists in the country.

He mentions that expanding runways in the Philippines is the biggest project that TIEZA wants to push so that it can decongest major airports and direct flights would be open to the airports nearest the tourist hotspots. However, it would be a little complicated as it might need more land, and airport redesigns to accommodate the planes going to those places.

He also shares that they work with a lot of government agencies with their projects like the DPWH, DICT, DTI, DOTr and more showing the importance of the agency with national development. And with many things needed to be done for mobility, facilities, and systems, it is important to push these projects into reality rather keep them as visions only.

It is also impressive that Mark Lapid has been appointed by both the Aquino and Duterte administration and now working under the Bagong Pilipinas government which shows that he is focused on his work and not on political affiliation.

Aside from being in government work, Mark Lapid is also an actor like his father, and the most recent role he had was in the show "Batang Quiapo" where he known as Ben Camacho. And probably the most notable rile he had was in the movie "Apoy Sa Dibdib ng Samar" with his line "Saging lang ang may puso..."

But beyond his acting career, he is more focused with public service as tourism infrastructure is more critical than ever, work come first that will benefit more Filipinos once these projects become reality. Despite the chaos in the government today, I appreciate the silent workers that keep our industries functional which needs to strive to achieve their visions and not let them remain on paper.
