LOOK: These Universal Records Artists Are Nominated in The 35th Awit Awards!

The 35th Awit Awards recently announced the list of nominees and a good number of talented artists and releases under Universal Records Philippines received respective nominations in various categories.

This year, the music recognition show teamed up with Philippine Association of Recording Industries (PARI) along with popular music brand MYX to present this year’s nominees last September 23, 2022.

UR artists who got nominated include Christian Bautista for Best Song Written for a Movie/TV/Stage Play (“Tuloy Ka Lang”), Shanti Dope for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Recording (“Ikaw” feat. Pino G & Jobe Nkemakolam and “Peekaboo” feat. Skinny G.), and Ice Seguerra for Best Traditional/Contemporary Folk Recording (“Wag Kang Aalis”)

An Overwhelming Victory For Universal Records' Artists In The 29th Awit Awards

Universal Records, one of the country's leading recording companies is proud to announce that the OPM artists under its label bagged most of the major awards in the recently concluded 29th Awit Awards, which was held on December 7 at the Music Museum in Greenhills. 

In its latest social media post, Universal Records made sure that the artists who are deserving of their respective victories are appreciated. "We couldn't be any prouder, says Kathleen Dy, UR's General Manager. "All our efforts have paid off". 

MCA Music Recieve Multiple Nominations In Upcoming 29th Awit Award

The list of nominees for the 29th Awit Awards has been revealed. The Awit Awards is a prestigious award-giving body, spearheaded by PARI (The Philippine Association of the Record Industry, Inc.), that gives recognition to Filipino performing artists and people behind the making of Filipino recorded music. MCA Music, the number one music company in the Philippines, is proud of having a total of 31 nominations this year led by Jason Dy with six nominations.

Gloc-9, Universal Records lead this year’s Awit Awards winners

Universal Records nabbed numerous commendations from the recently-concluded 2014 Awit Awards, held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World, with Gloc-9 winning most of the major awards – Album of the year for “Lihim at Liham,” Song of the Year for “Magda,” Best Rap Recording, and Best Collaboration.

Asia’s Songbird received two awards for Best Inspirational Song for “Nathaniel,” and Best Christmas Recording for “Hele Ni Inay.” These songs are part of the album “Hulong Ka Ng Langit,” which won Best Album Packaging Award.

Sam Concepcion won Best Dance Recording for the carrier single of his “Infinite” album – “No Limitations.”

PhilPop entries also made it to this year’s roster of winners – “Papel” and “Pansamantagal” won  Novelty, and World Music Recording of the Year, respectively.

Rocksteddy and Save Me Hollywood Land Nominations at the 27th Awit Awards

Forr music artists and producers, nothing feels better than being recognized for the work you’ve done. And so, 12 Stone Records is happy to announce that two of its prized acts have clinched their nominations at the 27th Awit Awards.

Comparable to a Grammy, an Awit Award and nomination are some of the most coveted recognitions a musical artist can ever hope for in his career. Nominees are carefully selected and winners are meticulously chosen. This year, two acts from the 12 Stone Records label made it to the final list of nominees. First on the list is Rocksteddy who bagged a nomination for Best Performance by a Group for the single “Drown”, followed by all-star newcomer Save Me Hollywood, who continues to prove its superstardom status by scoring a nomination for Best Rock/Alternative Recording for the hit single “High”.

Noel Cabangon’s Panaginip earns a grandslam


Noel Cabangon’s 2011 release Panaginip is undoubtedly the most awarded album of 2011 having been named Acoustic Album of the Year of the Star Awards for Music, the Secular Album of the Year of the Catholic Mass Media Awards, and the Album of the Year of the Awit Awards. This 3-peat-victory may well be considered a grandslam. 

“This is totally unexpected, but I cherish these awards,” says Noel Cabangon, who remains to be one of the bestselling OPM acts of today. “I am humbled with these recognitions.”
