Komikon Indieket 2024 Goes Balikbayanihan

Komikon Indieket 2024 marks the return of Komikon events to Bayanihan Center in Pasig City on August 31, 2024, from 10 AM to 8 PM. The Grand Independent Komiks Market theme "Balikbayanihan", is a play on the words "balikbayan" as a returning event and "Bayanihan Center" as the venue. The theme was also inspired by the "#BalikAshcan" virtual discussion during one of the Indie Komiks Podcasts earlier this year. "Balik Ashcan" refers to the goal of going back to the roots of DIY comics to combat the high costs of comic production and to lower the selling price of comics to allow casual or curious readers an affordable way to sample local komik creations.

Komikon Indieket 2024 features comics creator M.A. (Mark) Del Rosario of Paper Drawing Studio, a published author of short stories and graphic novels such as Gods of Manila, Aswang, Kingdom of Tundo, and Tikbalang - A Collection of Stories, both locally and in the U.S. He advocates reading and often tells people to go to libraries, bookstores, and comic shops.

Summer Komikon 2012 Tomorrow!

This year Summer Komikon 2012 gets hotter just like the weather as it will be filled with komiks, komiks and many other things still related to komiks! The event has been the most awaited event of the season. It was so in demand that the Independent Komiks slots were filled in less than a day! I actually failed to get a slot, but this means I have more time to go around the place and enjoy the komikon just like I did before. So Mark your Calendars now for May 26 at the Bayanihan Center in Pasig City from 10 am to 7 pm!

Specials for this years Komikon are Elemer Damaso, Freely Abrigo and Heubert Khan Michael. There will be also the Independent Komiks Tiangge and a 24 Hour Comic Creation Contest. Get to meet your favorite comic book artists and also their latest work hot and fresh and of course have them signed!

After KOMIKON, Back and Bloggin'!

I apologize for quite a hiatus for probably a week because of KOMIKON. But since its over and I'm now free, I can now attend to provide you again with the latest news and events today. Here I offer an apology cake for all readers and keep posted for anything new I love to share with you all!

But first of all I would like to congratulate the KOMIKON for a job well done for this day. Too bad for me that I came in late to sell my comics KRISIS KOMIX (Identity Krisis and World Krisis). It was a fun day for me despite my ailment in my leg. Had fun with comic friends. Though I don't have enough budget for comics for this time, I am happy to see that this industry is growing again in the digital age.
