RJ Padilla’s surprise ‘act’ in live show stuns fans

After Daniel Padilla, another member from the Padilla clan of actors is finding his way into the world of show business, and with his stance and manner of speaking that is typical of a “Padilla,” he is starting to show signs of being the next “Bad Boy of Philippine Television.”

Showbiz newcomer RJ Padilla is Robin Padilla’s nephew and Daniel Padilla’s half brother.  He is the son of Rommel Padilla, elder brother of Robin and Bebe Gandanghari.

Recently, the 24 year-old kapuso actor astounded the audience at a regional show in Batangas City when he unexpectedly took his shirt off in the middle of his production number.  Members of the audience screamed at the sight of RJ’s – take note -- six pack abs!

In an interview after the event, RJ revealed that he did not plan to flaunt his chiselled torso but when he saw how encouraging the audience was, he decided to push his limits further and gave them one hell of a show!

Impressing the Ladies Like Sef Cadayona

If the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, what then is the route to a lady’s heart? It was just our luck to run into Sef Cadayona while he was taking a break from rehearsals at GMA Network Studios. The actor has his hands full with his shows Bubble Gang, Vampire ang Daddy Ko, Mundo Mo’y Akin and Sunday All Stars but still manages to keep romance alive with his current flame. “Ah madali lang yan,” Sef joked when we asked him for tips on getting the girl. “First, I think that humor goes a long way. I think sa girls you like a guy with a sense of humor kasi if the person you’re dating is putting in the effort to make you laugh, in a way pa-bibo siya sayo diba? Tsaka mahirap yun ah, paano kung fail tapos nagkatitigan lang kayo?”

Ogie, Rufa Mae, Antonio, Betong get high with "tupig"

For those who have travelled to the North, "tupig" is one unique delicacy one just can't get enough of.  But for comedians Ogie Alcasid, Betong Sumaya, Rufa Mae Quinto and Antonio Aquitania the concoction made from sticky rice is much more than just that.  To them, it is like "drugs" that makes them high.  Why? That's what viewers of the longest-running comedy/gag show "Bubble Gang" are about to find out this Friday in the special episode "Dis Is Siete: The Bubble Gang Anniversary Special."

Ogie, Betong, Rufa Mae and Antonio will star in a short (comedy) film "Tres Y Locos" written by Roel Raval and directed by Bubble Gang director Uro dela Cruz.  The film will be shown alongside four other short films in "Bubble Gang's" anniversary episode.

Tres Y Locos is a semi-musical featuring a famous singing trio from the North.  They get inspiration for their every performance from the famous Ilocano delicacy called "tupig." They have become so dependent on tupig that they could not deliver a wonderful performance without it. Will they be able to break free from their "bondage" to the sticky delicacy?

"Tres Y Locos" is one of five short films that will highlight the celebration of "Bubble Gang's" 17th year via the episode "Dis Is Siete: The Bubble Gang Anniversary Special" airing this Friday, October 19, after Inside Protege on GMA-7.

Michael V. gets torn between Maureen Larrazabal and Jackie Rice in "Bubble Gang" short film

This Friday on "Bubble Gang" viewers will witness a marathon of five specially produced short films that will surely leave them laughing out loud as the longest-running comedy/gag show celebrates its 17th anniversary with a special episode entitled, "Dis Is Siete: The Bubble Gang Anniversary Special."

One of the five short films is "Kabiyak" starring Michael V., Maureen Larrazabal and Jackie Rice. It is a story of two women (a legal wife and a mistress) fighting for custody over the remains of a deceased man they both loved.  Eventually the management of the funeral parlor decided to give each woman a piece of their man with the upper half given to the legal wife and the lower (more "sinful") half to the mistress.  Will the erring women be satisfied with their lot and finally put their lover to rest?

Find that out this Friday, October 19, in "Dis Is Siete: The Bubble Gang Anniversary Special" after Inside Protege on GMA-7.

REEL DEAL: Boy Pick Up The Movie SPOTLIGHT

As a fan of the longest running gag show in the Philippines, Bubble Gang,  has made unforgettable characters and sketches that have transcended trough generations, I am amazed on how these comedy sketches would actually become a very big thing. And one of them is the popular BOY PICK UP which made the pick up line revolution here and even abroad.

With its success and popularity, GMA Films and Regal Entertainment Inc., bring the wacky and addicting anticd of multi-talented comedian Ogie Alcasid to the big screen with the spin off of his character in Bubble Gang via BOY PICK UP THE MOVIE!

Set to hit theaters this June 6, the film not only promises to give the audience bigger laughs but also grants the wish of avid fans of Boy Pick Up from television into the big screen. This would be Bubble Gang's second spin off movie from their segments, the first was Yaya ang Angelina which also starred Ogie and Michael V.  Ogie expresses his excitement on playing the role for the first time after being in the industry for over 25 years. Ogie is likewise very thrilled to work with sexy Kapuso actress Solenn Heussaff who will be his leading lady in the movie.
