DepEd sets out career guidance campaign and early registration guidelines for incoming SHS students

The Department of Education (DepEd) has rolled out a Career Guidance Program (CGP) for incoming Senior High School (SHS) students to guide them on their career path in time for the National Early Registration Day for Grade 10 completers in October.

Education Secretary Br. Armin A. Luistro FSC said the CGP will assist Grade 10 students make informed choices regarding their preferred SHS track. “We want our students to be aware of the importance of choosing a track that suits their interest while at the same time matches the available resources as well as job opportunities that await them,” he added.

Robert De Niro Begins Again in "The Intern"

Robert De Niro plays a 70-year-old widower and retiree who gets the chance to begin again as an intern at a local Brooklyn start-up, in Warner Bros. Pictures' new drama comedy “The Intern.”

In the film directed Nancy Meyers (“It's Complicated,” “The Holiday”), De Niro stars as Ben Whittaker who has discovered that retirement isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Seizing an opportunity to get back in the game, he becomes a senior intern at an online fashion site, founded and run by Jules Ostin (Anne Hathaway).

John Legend With Madonna's Dance On For "Breaking Through" Unique Casting Call

The upcoming intense dance movie “Breaking Through,” went for a unique casting call that had John Legend (who serves as producer of the film) teamed up with Madonna’s DanceOn, a leading YouTube dance video network that serves as a source for undiscovered talent which was also founded by Guy Oseary, Allen DeBevoise and CEO  Amanda Taylor.  

John Legend, a multiple Emmy Award-winner also produced original music for “Breaking Through” and has pooled together the most talented dancers and choreographers in the movie.  Along with John Swetnam,  known for his breakthrough screenwriting work in “Step Up All In” that reached blockbuster status pens the movie’s screenplay and takes on the director’s chair.

Golden Globe Winner Emily Blunt Headlines Male-Dominated Territory In "Sicario"

In Mexico, “Sicario” means hitman. In the intense, action drama on the fight against drugs, “Sicario,” Golden Globe winner Emily Blunt stars as FBI agent Kate Macer who  finds herself in the midst of the lawless border area stretching between the U.S. and Mexico enlisted by an elite government task force official Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) to aid in the escalating war against drugs.

“Sicario” is directed by Denis Villeneuve (“Prisoners”), a searing emotional-thriller that descends into the intrigue, corruption and moral mayhem of the borderland drug wars.

First DRT Show Philippines a huge success

The first ever Dive and Resort Travel (DRT) Show, presented by premier international exhibitions organizer, LX Development Group, and the Philippine Department of Tourism, was a huge success as it was highly supported and attended by numerous diving enthusiasts, marine conservationists, and industry stakeholders.

As the three-day expo held at the SM Megatrade Hall in Mandaluyong City featured top-level exhibitors – from dive equipment manufacturers, water sport equipment manufacturers, dive resorts, national tourism organizations (NTOs), as well as marine conservation and diving organizations – visitors were immersed in a grand showcase of the latest industry developments and innovations. The event also featured talks led by seasoned diving professionals, photographers and writers from all over the world who shared knowledge and learning that are valuable to anyone passionate about underwater world exploration. "Spectre" World Premiere Announced as 2015 Royal Film Performance‏

Albert R. Broccoli’s EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, and Sony Pictures Entertainment announced today that the 24th James Bond adventure, SPECTRE, has been selected for The Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund’s Royal Film Performance 2015.

The World Premiere will be attended by Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, and will take place on Monday 26th October at The Royal Albert Hall in London.

The CTBF Royal Film Performance is annually held in aid of the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund (CTBF), the charity for the UK film, cinema and commercial television industries, dedicated to providing support for those working behind-the-scenes in times of hardship. SPECTRE will be the third Bond film chosen as an RFP title since its inception in 1946.
