Netflix Unveils 17 New Originals From Asia

Netflix marked its growing commitment to connect people around the world with Asian entertainment today at its first-ever content showcase in the region, “See What’s Next: Asia.” Netflix CEO Reed Hastings and Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos, as well as performers and creators from Netflix series and films, unveiled 17 new Asian original productions from Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, India and South Korea.

These projects join 100 new and returning originals across eight countries in Asia through 2019 as Netflix increases its investment in Asian storytellers, amplifying their voices to the world. The announcements build on the momentum created by some of Netflix’s first forays into Asian storytelling released this year. Titles like crime thriller Sacred Games (India), anime series DEVILMAN crybaby (Japan) and variety comedy BUSTED! (Korea) have captivated Netflix members in 190 countries around the world.

Rody Vera's Translation Of Jose Rivera's MARISOL Opens Tanghalang Ateneo's 40th Season On November 15-25

Tanghalang Ateneo, the longest-running theater company of the Loyola Schools of the Ateneo de Manila University, presents Marisol, its first mainstage production for its 40th Season: Sturm und Drang/Bagyo at Bagabag. The play, which earned Jose Rivera a 1993 Obie Award for Playwriting after its premiere in 1992, is born anew with the translation of Palanca Hall of Famer Rody Vera and the direction of up and coming dramatur and director Erika Estacio.

Marisol Perez is caught in the disorder of the world brought about by the senile God as she is left to fend for herself, without her guardian angel. She learns that the angels are waging a war against the Lord, to save humanity and reinstate order in the world. With her best friend June, June’s deranged brother Lenny, and some unusual faces she meets along the way, Marisol has to face the repercussions of the War of the Heavens, grappling with the fact that the faith that she has long relied on can no longer keep her safe.

Greenhills is now redefining their Christmas traditions as it continues to expand and develop into a bigger and better commercial area which caters to people from all walks of life. Last year they launched the Christmas Village that lighted up V-Mall with snow and colors. This year, they wanted to make something bigger with the launch of the 30-foot Christmas Candy Cake also launched in V-Mall.

The Christmas Candy Cake located at the atrium makes a great centerpiece for the mall which brings the yuletide spirit to shoppers. The launch was headed by Ortigas and Company President and CEO Jaime E. Ysmael along with San Juan City Mayor Guia Gomez. They were also joined by the city councilors of the city of San Juan, and the top management of Ortigas and Company. There were also kids who joined the celebration which Mayor Guia, now on her last term,  said is the the reason for celebrating Christmas.
