PhilPop Himig Handog releases 12-song compilation on streaming platforms worldwide!

Maki, Moira, Johnoy Danao, Ice, VXON, Ferdinand Aragon, and more, join this year’s esteemed roster of interpreters 

PhilPop Himig Handog Songwriting Competition has released a compilation featuring the top 12 songs that made it to the final round.

The diverse selection of fully produced tunes was handpicked by the two music institutions (PhilPop and Himig Handog), who have made history by teaming up to find the next wave of global superstars and industry titans.

According to Jonathan Manalo, the creative director of ABS-CBN Music, the final roster of tracks was determined through a rigorous adjudication process. The selection of songs involved direct consultation with the songwriters to determine the creative direction of their respective material and identify collaborators who aligned with their overall vision for the competition.

Leo Almodal Presents A Spectrum of Amazing Works In His Fahsion Show

Cebuano-Masbateño fashion designer Leo Almodal, staged his solo fashion show at Okada Manila Grand Ballroom which was filled with many works both exquisite and intricate and brought big names in the fashion and entertainment industry in one night. Held last June 22, the event was attended by entertainment celebrities, beauty queens, and models which definitely made a mark in the fashion calendar.

Leo Almodal started designing even when he was still in his college years. His passion began when he was still six years of age when he first copied the image of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Disney princesses featured on a milk brand's label. 

"I was doing it on a part-time basis. I accept designing and sewing work while studying," Almodal shared how he started as a designer. "My late father was a tailor. My mother was a dressmaker. They both discouraged me to follow in their footsteps."

Despite being an education degree holder, he wasn't fortunate enough to land any teaching post, but the universe conspired with his dream. He landed a job at a bridal couture shop at SM-Cebu. From there, he only stayed there for three months and got hired by Arabs and flew to Bahrain as a fashion designer.
