Thrills and excitement await SM Cinema patrons as they unveiled four CinExclusive movies for October.
Four movies are lined up to be featured in SM Cinema which includes martial arts film Flying Swords of Dragon Gate on October 10, horror film VHS and Tim Burton’ animated movie Frankenweenie on October 17, with the latter being shown in both Digital 3D and IMAX 3D. Finally, with Halloween just around the corner, horror movie, The Apparition, will definitely give movie-goers a chill when it opens on October 24.
On October 10, SM Cinema screens the martial arts movie Flying Swords of Dragon Gate, a retelling of the Dragon Gate legend about which a band of marauders masquerading as the staff of the new Dragon Inn by day and at night pursue their true calling as fortune hunters in search of the treasures of a lost city buried underneath the desert. It stars Jet Li as Chow Wai-On, the General of the Ming Dynasty.
Come October 17, two thrilling movies will be featured: Frankenweenie and VHS that will give a good spook to both kids and adults. In this stop-motion animation movie Frankenweenie, Tim Burton tells a heartwarming story a boy, Victor, and his beloved dog, Sparky. After unexpectedly losing Sparky in an accident, Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life, but with some minor adjustments. However, when Victor loses sight of Sparky and the entire town finds out of Sparky, they all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.
Meanwhile, for the adults who wish to get a good fright, there’s VHS. In the spirit of the found-footage-style horror movies, VHS is about a group of criminals which scours a secluded country home to find a mysterious video tape. However, when they discover a rotten corpse amid a collection of vintage television sets and a pile of VHS tapes, they go from one video to another, each video they witness bear images that are gruesome and too horrible for words to describe.
Lastly, to get you in Halloween mode, on October 24 SM Cinema features the horror movie, the Apparition, featuring a young couple Kelly and Ben (Ashley Greene of the movie Twilight and Sebastian Stan of Gossip Girl) who experience hauntings in their new home brought about a presence that was conjured during a university parapsychology experiment. As the horrifying apparition feeds on their fear and continues to torment them, they ask for help from a supernatural expert (Tom Felton) to drive the evil spirit away from their home.
As an added treat to its loyal patrons, SM Cinema’s e-PLUS cardholders can enjoy 50% discount on tickets. SM Advantage Card, Prestige Card, BDO Rewards Card and Global Pinoy Card holders will be given 20% off on tickets when they watch these CinExclusive movies.
