LAKBAYAN: SEAIR offers nationwide PHP 99 sale, promotes domestic tourism

Here’s great news for travellers! Southeast Asian Airlines, Inc. (SEAIR), in partnership with Tiger Airways, announced that it is offering PHP 99 fares for all its domestic destinations.

The special rates are for booking on March 12-13, 2013 for travel on October 1 to November 30, 2013. To avail of the promo, passengers must book their tickets at www.tigerairways.com.

The airline offers flights from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 4 to Cebu, Davao, Tacloban, Iloilo, Puerto Princesa, and Bacolod. It flies to Boracay (via Kalibo) from both Clark and Manila. SEAIR has  also recently announced that it will start flying from Manila to Laoag on April 4, 2013.

SEAIR is offering this special sale to promote domestic travel, supporting the “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” campaign of the Department of Tourism (DOT).

Last year, SEAIR unveiled an Airbus aircraft emblazoned with the popular DOT slogan. The partnership with DOT aims to promote the Philippines as a key destination in Asia as the planes fly daily to regional destinations in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Bangkok via Clark International Airport.

The months of October and November are filled with festival celebrations all over the country. The famous Masskara Festival in Bacolod is held in October and features a street dance competition wherein participants wear colorful masks, showcasing the creativity of the locals. In Camiguin, the Lanzones Festival is held every third week of October, during the harvest season of the luscious lanzones fruit, which the province is well-known for, apart from its pristine white beaches. The beautiful island of Camiguin can be reached from Cebu via overnight fast craft. The Higantes Festival is a month-long celebration in November in the town of Angono, Rizal, considered the Art Capital of the Philippines. The “higantes” are actually giant paper mache effigies that used to represent Spanish landlords during the colonial period but in modern times feature famous individuals. Angono is a 30-minute drive from NAIA Terminal 4 or the Manila domestic airport.
