Gina Lopez Names 8 Finalists Of The "Quest For Love"

Eight communities will get to jump start their own projects to help uplift the lives of their people throgh "The Quest For Love," a nationwide search that will soon air o ABS-CBN's "G Diaries" by Gina Lopez.

Launched last March, "The Quest For Love" is a project of the Investments in Loving Organizations for Village Economies (ILOVE) Foundation founded by Gina. It Aims to promote widespread social and environmental development by providing communities with financial and technical support to start their own social enterprises.

Gina introduced the top eight finalists of the search in a press conference on Thursday (July 19) at ABS-CBN's Dolphy Theater attended by Air Asia President Maan Hontiveros, Megawide Corporate Foundation, Inc. Chief Operating Officer Shiela Lynn Nawata, Globe Telecome, Inc. Senior Vice President Yolanda Crisanto, Forrest Foundation Philippines Executive Director Atty., Andres Canivel, Richprime Global Inc. President Myrna Yao, and IISA founder adna CEO Jen Villoria.

According to GIna,"Quest For Love" hope to empower communities in the remotest areas of the country and transform them into successful and sustainable site for agro industries, forestry fisheries, or ecotourism.

"By giving these organizations guidance and access to resources, we help them stand on their own and take charge of the future," she said.

All finalists will recieve P100,000,undergo ILOVE Foundation's mentoring and support program, and have direct access to government support from the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Publc Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Tourism (DOT, Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of National Defense (DND), and Department and Industry (DTI).

The eight were chosen after a day-long deliberation held also on Thursday, where 16 organizations that represnt  different communities in the country got to pitch their ideas to a pancel of social investors. The proposed projects include heritage villages, habitat rehabilitation, livelihood programs, and eco-tourism activities.

Filipinos can watch their journey towards bringing their dream projects into life soon on "G Diaries," Gina's award-winning advocacy program that features success of community development in some of the most scenic destinations in the Philippines.

Joining them are mentrs like actor and restaurateur Marvin Agustin, social enterpeneur Illiac Diaz, business experts John Aguillar, Marvin Beduya, Jeanine Javelosa, and Chit Juan, sustainability advocate Reena Franciso, sociologist Czarina Medina-Guce, Human Nature Founder Anna Meloto-Wilk, and Bootleg Innovation Design co-foundet Aaron Panillio.
