After "Dunkirk," Harry Styles Takes the Lead in "Don't Worry Darling"

When Harry Styles had his first musical fame, he could have made a smooth transition into Hollywood leading man roles. But he’s never had any interest in doing things the easy way. Instead, he made his film debut as a character actor, with a supporting role in 2017’s “Dunkirk,” the Oscar-nominated World War II drama from Christopher Nolan.

Styles treated “Dunkirk” as a learning experience, not a stepping stone to Hollywood. Five years later, he returns to acting, ready to take the lead as the ambitious husband Jack Chambers in New Line Cinema’s provocative thriller, “Don’t Worry Darling.”

Today, GRAMMY Award®-winning global superstar Harry Styles has released his brand new single and video “As It Was.”

“As It Was” is the lead single from his highly anticipated new album Harry’s House, to be released May 20 on Columbia Records. Listen to “As It Was” here and check out the video here.

“Directing a Harry Styles video was a bucket list dream come true for me as he’s my favorite performer,” says Tanu. “Shooting him was bittersweet as it was one of the happiest days of my life, but on the second day of the shoot, my country Ukraine was invaded so you can imagine the insane emotions we had while shooting. Me and my team from Ukraine poured so much love into this video and you can see it on screen. It will be a music video I will never forget and now I can happily retire.” See full team credits below.

Harry Styles “lights up” with groundbreaking new album, Fine Line

Harry Styles’ sophomore album, Fine Line is finally arriving on December 13, 2019—just in time for a Friday the 13th release.

Fine Line includes previously released tracks “Lights Up,” “Watermelon Sugar,” and latest single “Adore You,” whose cryptic marketing campaign sparked tremendous buzz for weeks. The second studio release also reunites Styles with producers Jeff Bhasker, Tyler Johnson and Kid Harpoon, who refined the overall sound of his debut album.

A “brazenly honest” record

On Fine Line, the former One Direction star opens up about “constantly dancing in and out of desire and destruction,” as Entertainment Weekly puts it, and exploring his more brazenly honest side in terms of the songwriting process leading to the final touches of his newest album. “For me, it doesn’t mean I’ll sit down and be like, ‘This is what I have for dinner, and this is where I eat every day, and this is what I do before I go to bed,” Styles shares in a recent Rolling Stone interview. “But I will tell you that I can be really pathetic when I’m jealous. Feeling happier than I’ve ever been, sadder than I’ve ever been, feeling sorry for myself, being mad at myself, being petty and pitiful — it feels really different to share that.”

Harry Styles Marks Acting Debut in Christopher Nolan's "Dunkirk"

As one of the members of the global phenomenon One Direction, Harry Styles became one of the best-known musicians in the world. Now, he makes his feature film acting debut in Christopher Nolan's new epic action thriller Dunkirk (in Philippine cinemas July 20).

Dunkirk opens as hundreds of thousands of British and Allied troops are surrounded by enemy forces. Trapped on the beach with their backs to the sea, they face an impossible situation as the enemy closes in.

REEL DEAL: Dunkirk REVIEW

War films are probably one of the most difficult to produce as they are heavily laden with action, explosions, and critical historical facts. Many would use them as propaganda against enemies. Dunkirk stands out among this genre as it was given focus on the individual faces of war.

The film will actually inflict a small trauma to us to let us experience what is like to be in the forefront, and it was really scary. Death and survival are the only options. Nolan proved that he can make a impressionistic film about armed conflicts.

Though we have seen many war movies, the journey of the characters here paints real situations,no fancy lines, just expressions of horror, grief, thrill, etc. Though the story of war is similar to what our grandparents had experienced, the human connection is what brings the viewers and the characters in one boat.
