MUSIC LYF: Four Year Strong LIVE IN MANILA

After only one year of existence,Built By Sonic, a small shop with a BIG sound, achieved to produce in having the best rock music / punk lifestyle apparels and merchandise available to the Philippines as well as mounting a successful event with American rock heartthrobs, MAYDAY PARADE last July 2010.

They are at it again this year, working with Sonic Boom Philippines to create another massive and reputable Rock show that only they know how to deliver. They are bringing in American pop punk band from Worcester Massachusetts, FOUR YEAR STRONG on February 17, 2012 (Friday) at White SpacePasong Tamo Extension Makati City.

Yes, they have surveyed and scoured the area to know that FOUR YEAR STRONG is definitely a band to catch and not be missed. Formed in 2001, the band released 5 albums including a 90's themed cover album called EXPLAINS IT ALL. They are currently promoting their new album, IN SOME WAY SHAPE OR FORM under Decaydance Records which is the label owned by Music Business Icon & Fall Out Boy's Bassist Pete Wentz, the album is distributed under MCA Universal Republic worldwide. FOUR YEAR STRONG have been busy touring the world, part of their music footprints are notable festivals and tours like Rockstar Energy Drink's Taste Of Chaos 2009, Soundwave Festival 2010, Slam Dunk Festival 2010, Vans Warped Tour 2010, Bamboozle 2010, Kerrang! Relentless Tour 2011 aside from this they have shared the stage with All Time Low, Mayday Parade, New Found Glory, Thursday, Faith No More, Jane's Addiction, Placebo, Paramore, Sunny Day Real Estate, Set Your Goals, Bad Religion, Hellogoodbye, Sum41 and supported Blink182 during their UK Arena event last Summer 2011.

Headlining the acts were Amber Davis and Brenan of Audio Clef Records, Thyro and Yumi of Viva Records, Pikaso of Turf Entertainment and Ninks of Flip Music. The albums represent a mixture of Old School, New School, Underground, Mainstream Hiphop and RnB that will cater to any music enthusiast.

REEL DEAL: Star Wars Episode 1 3D REVIEW

Thought not yet born when the first Star Wars Trilogy was shown, I was able to catch up with its VHS copies back in the 90's. And after  11 years since it was shown in theaters (way back then), the force is back and in 3D in Star Wars Episode 1 The Phantom Menace.

If you are a true blue Star Wars fan and you want your kids to experience the epic galactic trilogy in 3D which makes the movie more interesting. 

In this movie, the saga starts in the planet Naboo ruled by Queen Amidala but tensions rise us with the Trade Federation. With Jedi Knights Obi Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn, getting involved in the planetary crisis, they go on a mission to help the Queen and all the inhabitants of Planet Naboo.

This also where the Jedis meet the young Anakin Skywalker and his great power within. We also see the dark society of the Sith, and one of those is Darth Maul.  And with the 3D effect on the movie (and vibrating seats) enhancing the experience makes the movie make a lasting impression for first time viewers (like me).

A 6.8 earthquake just hit the Visayas Region this morning with the epicenter at 72 KM North of Dumagete City in Negros Island.  According to Pacific Tsunami Warning Center there is no Tsunami warning levels but wants to practice caution:

NO DESTRUCTIVE WIDESPREAD TSUNAMI THREAT EXISTS BASED ON
 HISTORICAL EARTHQUAKE AND TSUNAMI DATA.


 HOWEVER - EARTHQUAKES OF THIS SIZE SOMETIMES GENERATE LOCAL
 TSUNAMIS THAT CAN BE DESTRUCTIVE ALONG COASTS LOCATED WITHIN
 A HUNDRED KILOMETERS OF THE EARTHQUAKE EPICENTER. AUTHORITIES
 IN THE REGION OF THE EPICENTER SHOULD BE AWARE OF THIS
 POSSIBILITY AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION.

Two other after shocks, a 5.6 Magnitude earthquake, and 4.8 Magnitude earthquake were also recorded with epicenters also near the original. No official numbers of damage and casualties were reported yet many expressed and reported the event online via social networking sites.
