REEL DEAL: Moron 5 And The Crying Lady REVIEW

Movies are meant to remove the stress from the viewers, and this is what Pinoy comedy does best. And Wenn De Ramas, who made the box office hit Praybeyt  Benjamin, does his specialty of slapstick and dialouge comedy with MORON 5 AND THE CRYING LADY


Moron 5 and The Crying Lady bring together half-witted longtime friends Albert (Luis Manzano), Isaac (Billy Crawford), Mozart "Mo" (DJ Durano), Michaelangelo "Mike" (Martin Escudero) and Aristotle "Aris" (Marvin Agustin) were used to living moronic yet pretty normal and hassle-free lives until successful careerwoman Becky Pamintuan (John "Sweet" Lapus) accused them of killing her father and ruin everything for them. The Moron 5 are more than sure of their innocence but the life of them, they cannot find a single satisfactory argument on how to prove it especially when their opponent would do everything to punish them for whim.

GMA Network hits P13.083 billion consolidated revenues in 2011

Releases cash dividends equivalent to 114 percent of full 2011 net income

GMA Network, Incorporated (GMA), the leading broadcast media company in the Philippines, hit consolidated revenues worth P13.083 billion in 2011.

Notwithstanding the absence of P2.054 billion worth of revenues from political advertisements generated in 2010 and the global impact of financial crisis in Europe and slow economic recovery in the US last year, the Company delivered a fairly competitive business performance. 

In fact, despite the cutback in the advertising budget of top multinationals whose headquarters are based abroad, the Network’s leadership in nationwide ratings won for the Company a substantial portion of the available ad spend. 

GMA Channel 7, the Company’s top performing business unit and the country’s most watched television station, posted an eight-percent revenue growth from regular advertising during the financial period versus the preceding year, more than double the gross national product (GNP) growth rate of only 3.5 percent in 2011.

Groups Have Endured and Succeeded The 12 hour Sing-A-Thon

Singing for 12 hours is no joke, others it will be torture, but not for us Filipinos especially for those who take care of their oral health. To prove this, Bactidol made an epic event that will test the skill and endurance of the Pinoy voice.

The 12 hour Sing-a-thon held at Red Box Rock Dine and Roll at Eastwood mall brings a diversity of groups that came from different walks of life. Some are workmates from different call centers, some are barkadas who have the passion for singing.

A total of 21 groups joined the sing-a-thon that started at 12 noon. The groups have the liberty of choosing their playlist however they can get some food and drinks after singing selected challenge songs. And speaking of challenges, there is also a special Challenge Room wherein individual participants from the groups go on a head to head battle to be the king of the videoke!

DJ's Chico and Delamar were there to host the event for the whole day, they do also go around the rooms to see the groups in action. The event also gets a lot of feedback and tweets from twitter with the hashtag #12hrsingathon and #bactidol. I may not have a team on my own but never let the night pass without belting some songs. Ebe Dancel and Barbie Lamabis also made a surprize appearance to the participants and joined in the fun. ‘BATTLESHIP’ from game-to-film

On April 12  2012, the battle for Earth begins at sea. Peter  Berg directs and produces Battleship, an epic-scale action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force.

After the blockbuster success of the toys-to-films Transformers and G.I. THE STYLISTICS serenades Filipino fans at the Smart Araneta Coliseum

Celebrate the music of best-known Philadelphia soul group of the 1970s as That’s Ntertainment Productions, in cooperation with ABS-CBN, present THE STYLISTICS Live in Manila happening on April 12, 2012, 8pm at Smart Araneta Coliseum.  Their special guests are Rico J. Puno and Elizabeth Ramsey.

The Stylistics have been recording and touring for almost forty years and enjoyed twelve straight Top 10 hits from 1971-1974. These include their stellar debut"Betcha by Golly, Wow", "Stop, Look, Listen (To Your Heart)", "You Are Everything", "I'm Stone in Love with You", "Break Up to Make Up", and the shimmering sweet soul ballad "You Make Me Feel Brand New". Their early 70s work with producer Thom Bell and his collaborator, lyricist Linda Creed yielded some of the most popular love songs of that era.

Caribe at the Islands is inspired with the tropical living as its name came from the Caribbean.  While Amalfi is more European with a high influence of Spanish feel and architecture. There is also  Camella Homes Dasma offers affordable family living varieties with great amenities and location. There is also St. Paul College Islands Park in the middle of the Islands properties, thus making school not very far from home. The Islands Commercial and Mango Grove is also a great place for recreation and events and situated in the middle of them all.

Among all of the great properties, there is indeed a place for everyone, for small and practical families, people who want to have a feel of European living, or even a tropical one can be found here. With a nearby school, near to major roads and also commercial establishments soon to open, it a perfect getaway every time you go home.  As I am actually considering of investing a property in the south, the Islands is my top pick!

VISITA IGLESIA DIARIES 2012 (PART1)

Like I have experienced, the journey of 14 churches for Visita Iglesia is better as a personal retreat with God. The tradition has been popular with Pinoys because its provide a chance to  travel during the Holy week especially when malls are closed and there is no regular programming on TV.  It's actually a great time to bond with family and friends this week. 


As my family are quite far from me, I usually go visita iglesia on my own for the past few years now and for this journey, I made another Visita Iglesia Diaries dedicated for this holy week.
