Siti Saniyah Scores First Judges’ Pick on Asia’s Got Talent

Indonesia’s Siti Saniyah scored the season’s first Judges’ Pick in the first Semi-Finals episode of Asia’s Got Talent. Siti Saniyah will advance directly to perform in the Grand Finals Show at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore where she will be one of the nine to stand a chance to win USD100,000.

Ulan - Testing Nadine If She Can Make It Through The Rain

When I first saw the trailer of this film, it was confusing. Is it a love story, horror, or fantasy film? This was actually a good sign as many movie is already predictable with the formulaic style and plot, but Ulan proves to be otherwise. 

The story as it is laced with folklore and vivid imagination, Ulan takes on a form that focuses on the the life of Maya (Lustre), who is a hopeless romantic and despises the rain which always come and means that something bad would happen. Appearances of Tikbalangs, eggs, and a mysterious woman bring more mysticism to the real life problems also portrayed in the movie.

This is also the first film that Nadine won't be together with boyfriend James Reid which many think their films won't work if they don't stick to the love team formula. But as they have grown mature throughout the years, it is fitting to prove that Nadine can whip up a great performance despite being paired now with new leading men.

New Line Cinema, Sanrio and FlynnPictureCo. announced today that they will be teaming up to develop an English language Hello Kitty film for a worldwide audience for the first time in her 45-year history.

The partnership marks the only time Sanrio has granted film rights to Hello Kitty and other popular characters—including Gudetama, My Melody, Little Twin Stars and more from its expansive universe—to a major film studio, giving audiences outside of Japan the opportunity to experience Hello Kitty as a feature film. Hello Kitty’s debut under the partnership will be produced by Beau Flynn and executive produced by Wendy Jacobson for FlynnPictureCo. in the culmination of a passionate, nearly five-year journey to secure the rights to develop Hello Kitty for the global big screen. With a lot of disturbing and negative imagery in news and in different forms of media, it's great to see that there is a film festival that aims to spread goodness and inspiration through short films. Spearheaded by the Office of the Vice President of the Philippines, Istorya Ng Pag-Asa Film Festival is again open to filmmakers to submit  stories of Filipinos that are truly uplifting and sends a good message to all.

For this year the prizes are now bigger as they expect to have more entries that can come here and abroad. The project is also supported by the Ayala Foundation, and the Film Development Council of the Philippines. VP Leni Robredo shares that this is a great way to spread positivity and inspiration for Filipinos which has been exposed with a lot of conflicts and struggles.
