REEL DEAL: Dunkirk REVIEW

War films are probably one of the most difficult to produce as they are heavily laden with action, explosions, and critical historical facts. Many would use them as propaganda against enemies. Dunkirk stands out among this genre as it was given focus on the individual faces of war.

The film will actually inflict a small trauma to us to let us experience what is like to be in the forefront, and it was really scary. Death and survival are the only options. Nolan proved that he can make a impressionistic film about armed conflicts.

Though we have seen many war movies, the journey of the characters here paints real situations,no fancy lines, just expressions of horror, grief, thrill, etc. Though the story of war is similar to what our grandparents had experienced, the human connection is what brings the viewers and the characters in one boat.

"Dunkirk" - Propulsive, Ticking-Clock Action-Thriller from Christopher Nolan

Christopher Nolan has taken audiences from the streets of Gotham City, to the infinite world of dreams, to the farthest reaches of space. Now, for the first time, the innovative director/writer/producer has turned his camera to a real-life event, one that has resonated with him throughout his life: the miracle of Dunkirk.

Warner Bros. Pictures' Dunkirk is based on the evacuation that—although it took place in the early months of World War II—had a direct impact on the outcome of the war. Rather than make a battlefield drama, however, Nolan’s objective was to turn this historical moment into immediate, immersive cinema: a propulsive, ticking-clock, epic action thriller in which the stakes couldn’t be higher.
