MUSIC LYF: Janice Javier BlogCon

Janice Javier has been working most of her life but still kept her passion for singing, as one of the grand finalist in The Voice of the Philippines, she is now enjoying her musical career as she launches her debut album under MCA Music. Though we are used to hear her singing more than talking, having a BlogCon with her give her the chance to voice out her story and let out her quirky and funny side.

Alongside with the release of her self-titled debut album, which showcases her power, soul, and R&B, range is Janice Javier’s upcoming solo concert. On July 4, 2014, experience “The Voice of Janice Javier: Live in Concert”, Janice’s first concert as a recording artist. With her record and management deal with MCA Music, she’s ready to bring all she’s got. Janice will astound the concert crowd with songs included in her album, which includes her original song and collaboration with her coach Apl.de.Ap, “Breathe”, as well as her covers of “Why Can’t It Be”, “Heaven Knows”, “I Believe I Can Fly” and her take on “Starting Over Again”, which was used in the promotional trailer of the same top-grossing movie.

With Janice’s big voice and big heart for music come even bigger dreams for Janice. “I’d like to be a singer when I grow up”, Janice Javier shares as she recalls her incredible musical journey. With over 20 years of performing experience here and abroad, it’s her turn to showcase her music to the best audience in the world. “One of the most difficult crowds to please (are the Filipinos) that’s why it’s fulfilling, she admits that she isn’t the cookie cutter diva the Pinoys are used to seeing on TV but her talent is enough to wow crowds all over the country.
Janice Javier was known as one of the “divas” from the first season of The Voice of the Philippines with her powerful and soulful voice comparable to Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin. She is one of the Top 4 of the competition placing third behind winner Mitoy Yonting and runner-up Klarisse De Guzman. A four-chair turner during her Blind Auditions, she eventually chose international rapper, The Black Eyed Peas member, Apl.de.Ap as her Coach who mentored her all the way to the finals.

Janice’s life has always been musical – never without it. Her dad, 2nd generation Hotdog keyboardist Rolando Javier, honed her interest under his watch and trained her to become a better vocalist. It wasn’t long enough until she did music professionally during her entire high school years as a multiplex, commercial jingle, and back-up singer for various clients and bands. Despite her initial fears and insecurities, the support from the fans keeps her going and pushes her to improve more. “Never stop learning, never stop practicing.”

The Voice of Janice Javier, Live in Concert will be on the 4th of July 2014, Friday, 8 in the evening at Teatrino, Greenhills.
