Happy 20th Anniversary Manual To Lyf!

It has been XX years since Manual To Lyf started as a blog which was based on an unfinished book of the same title. The blog was made to bring enjoyment about the thrills and frills of life as it is as I have experienced it. The world is such a wide and dangerous place yet we are here and still living.

Well if you would be observant enough, the anniversary will happen in the year 2026, as stated in the small font underneath the "20 year of blogging fun". It has been a tradition of MTL to make a little gag for the day which was simple and hopefully eye catching. Google also made some interesting pranks like Pokemon on Google Maps, Youtube 2014 New Trends, and even translator to emoji.

For a while, let's enjoy this cover and banner until April fool's day end in all of the timezones.

#OkraSoup Episode 1!

The long wait is over as the first (impromptu) episode of OKRA SOUP has now been uploaded and with the pilot episode graced with a fresh new artist of PolyEast Records Isabelle De Leon. We had a fun jamming time with this sweet rock-chic along with fellow bloggers Jing, Sire, and Myrna! Okra Soup is part of Manual To Lyf's offering for 2013 providing live videos which people will see live experiences and sometimes live celebrities!

Well Okra Soup has been in the planning and teasing process since 2011, but the only thing we had were teasers featuring Kim Chui, Richard Yap, and Xian Lim! Episode two is now in the works and of course, will have more improvements (just to get the ball rolling) and hopefully soon a trending show and topic on twitter, which you can also do to help with the hashtag #OkraSoup.  You can send us feedback and your messages which would be read in the next episode! So tweet away!

10 Things I Need To Do Before THE END

Many people are indeed concerned about the end of the world, especially when the ultimate end comes, one may recall what he/she had done to make his life worthwhile. And I do have here a list of the top 10 thing I need to do before the END comes.

This is brought to you by Western Union which is celebrating its 160th year world wide. They also launched their celebratory website www.westernunionworld.com

Blogs Overhaul!

I'm bringing my blogs into a whole new level. More features, better graphics and more stories to share  for the three major blogs under the MTL group of blog companies (LOL).  Like TV and radio stations that change their station IDs every now and then. I like to do the same for my blogs to give them a fresh look. However, I am avoilding any major changes in the logo and other contents that would confuse the readers. Last Month, I started with MTL's lighter look. Now with the revival of my comic strip at Krisis Komix (www.krisiskomix.blogspot.com), and also the rise of the food events at FudFyt (www.fudfyt.blogspot.com).  It will be a very busy week for me to make all of these changes. but I hope you would like them as I am doing it for all of you(Aww...). And by the way don't forget to like their facebook fan pages!

Manual to Lyf is now Available in the OVI Store! Download now!

Its Official! Manual to Lyf is now available at the Nokia OVI store  and can be downloaded for free! Its no joke and It took some time for this to be released. I was very excited when it showed available in the OVI store (www.store.ovi.com). Now I feel proud as MTL is now going beyond borders and now available for nokia users. And in the country Nokia still remains the best selling handset in the country and with the popularity of apps, it would be refreshing to see the blog in mobile app for easier browsing of contents.

New Things to watch out for MTL!

Yes, things are getting cooler here at Manual to Lyf as we its transforms to like a newspaper or magazine that have segments for easier reading. This would help you know what to read in the right places. Last month I intoduced LakBayan and Fashionista. Putting them into categories not only gives order to post but also a sleeker look on the topics. Presenting the new Manual to Lyf segments!

New Directions, New Lyf!

Just made new changes in the blog in terms of design, first the header and the logo, and then I also included my new black and white calling card which I say is so sleek. I just though of this makeover to start anew. Manual to Lyf believes in constant change to keep up with the time and its also the start of redesigning the blog itself. to make readers more comfortable reading the articles. Just last week I changed the theme into a lighter one to encourage people to read versus the dark (yet lively) theme I had for some time. I hope you enjoy this makeover and just in case you are interested in graphic arts just give me a call..by the way, here is my calling card.

DAYS OF LITERATURE: Rizal sa Call Center (Part 2)

Part 2

At bakit ba dito (Call Center)?

"TRABAHO?"... napaisip ako kaagad... deal or no deal?

itutuloy...

Manual to Lyf's New Segment!

Manual to Lyf is indeed a general blog about lifestyle and events but of course, there should be order and categories to make everything simpler to search. That is why on my blog I do have segments like Fud Fyt (www.fudfyt.blogspot.com) which is now has its own blog. And today I am introducing two new segments for Travel and Fashion. Introducing LakBayan and Fashionista!
LakBayan of course would focus on travel, but when there is a place there is also history and other interesting things to talk about, and the list could go on and on.  And before food, traveling is what I really love to do. walking to unchartered places and discovering more than any book and e-books combined. I do hope to make more video blogs with this segment and show you the places you and I can go in this blog. Tara, LaBayan na!
Now Fashion has a new authority, its FASHIONISTA baby! Though not really a designer or a model but has eyes and ears on what the trends would be would be influential. Yes, it may be a new world for me but like our motto in MTL that try and try everything before your die! And since sometimes I would be fashionably handicapped, I do need to compose myself and look better to feel better. Time to hit the ramp!

In the next post it will include these new segments since I have been to several fashion and travel events lately, so always keep yourself updated with lyf, only here in Manual to Lyf!

Happy New Year from Manual To Lyf!

Another year of blessing and opportunities will come our way. The year promises new things that will bring us into more opportunities and happiness for Lyf  is meant to be lived to the fullest!

Happy New year everyone!

Misa de Gallo Diaries: Day seven

Just like last night (or morning), I also went back to a previous church for the seventh day. But this was accidental because of my poor scheduling and on the spot decisions that almost jeopardized the essence and value of the simbang gabi. I originally planned to try a church in the Ortigas-Pasig Area, but I failed to check on the churches that are available and their respective schedules. I was at St. Francis Parish at 8pm but they were already done with thier mass when I arrived. Then I thought if Megamall chapel would start at that time but from what I know its also at the same time as this parish. Then, I made a move by going to EDSA shrine on a short bus ride but eventually to find out that they only serve dawn masses and no night ones.
So I was getting desparate. Its almost 930pm and I am confused on what church would have mass at that time. And then, I remembered San Juan church that starts at 930. So I acted quick to take a jeepney ride to the church. However, I also encountered traffic as we passed by greenhills which made me a little bit depressed and guilty of what have I done. But it was a grace that I have arrived at the church. And was able to understand that the gospel was about Zacheriah, John the baptist's father. As I would remember I am drawn into a church dedicated to John the baptist.
My view at the church was different since I was near the door and never seated. But this gave me another perspective of the church that it had murals about John's life including his father. You might say it would be old art but it was very helful in reflecting about the message for today. And since the church is one of my recent discoveries, I would like to take sometime to go around the church and probably know some history about it. But for now, its still not a good time. However, the experiences I had in this church actually helped me a lot in understanding the message of the gospels especially about John, the voice coming from the desert preparing the way of the Lord.
