I've never been to Singapore, and may still have not, but this does not mean I cannot experience what it is like to be in the progressive South East Asian city state because recently at the Podium they have launched SINGAPORIUM - an exclusive lifestyle and food pop up showcasing brands that are proudly from Singapore.

And as the Philippines and SIngapore are celebrating their 50th diplomatic relations this year, it is fitting to have this kind of event that will celebrate the friendship and let Filipinos have a taste and feel of their country. Organized by Enterprise Singapore, the Pop-Up experience center will run from September 6 to 15, 2019. They aim to grow and globalize Singaporean brands in which many are looking forward to open their branches in the Philippines.

Michael B. Jordan Fights for Justice in the "Just Mercy" Trailer

Warner Bros. Pictures has just premiered the first trailer for “Just Mercy” starring Michael B. Jordan and Oscar winners Jamie Foxx and Brie Larson.  The film is an inspiring drama that brings one of America’s most important stories today to the big screen.  

Award-winning filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton (“The Glass Castle,” “Short Term 12”) directed the film from a screenplay he co-wrote, based on the award-winning nonfiction bestseller by Bryan Stevenson.

Bringing Thra To Life

Netflix released a behind the scenes look at The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance - Bringing Thra to Life - featuring voice cast and creators.

Based on The Dark Crystal, Jim Henson’s groundbreaking 1982 feature film, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance tells a new story, set many years before the events of the movie, and realized using classic puppetry with cutting edge visual effects. The world of Thra is dying. The Crystal of Truth is at the heart of Thra, a source of untold power. But it is damaged, corrupted by the evil Skeksis, and a sickness spreads across the land. When three Gelfling uncover the horrific truth behind the power of the Skeksis, an adventure unfolds as the fires of rebellion are lit and an epic battle for the planet begins.

‘Inside Out’ on Sept 10 at RCBC auditorium

“Inside Out” is a dance concert inspired by the book of the same title. The book is a compilation of lectures of yogini Dadi Janki, who was touted by scientists as having the World’s Most Stable Mind.

In 1978, the Medical and Science Research Institute at the University of Texas conducted a study on the brain activity of people who meditated. Dadi Janki’s results showed that while performing actions, lecturing and doing math, her brain waves recorded delta, a state equivalent to deep sleep and regeneration.

In most of her lectures, she explains that developing a calm mind under all circumstances is based on using the powers of the soul—peace, love, purity, happiness and truth.

“Inside Out” will be held on Sept. 10, 7:30 pm at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza. This one-woman show, performed by Marge Enriquez, is directed by Bong Cabrera and choreographed by Kris-Belle Paclibar.

Shakey’s Saves the Planet One Step at a Time

In its mission to provide a positive impact to the community, Shakey’s has partnered with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to promote the #AyokoNgPlastik Movement.

Last August 8, 2019, a total of 131 volunteers from Shakey’s and WWF headed over to Las Pinas-Paranaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area (LPPCHEA) for a Coastal Clean-up.

LPPCHEA is a nature reserve of mangroves, ponds, lagoons and a mixed beach forest, and it homes 41 migratory bird species from China, Japan and Siberia. But because it is beside Manila Bay, the islands in LPPCHEA have been a catch basin for trash from the surrounding bodies of water especially during the rainy season.

"The Two Popes" Has The Perfect Casting

From Fernando Meirelles, the Academy Award-nominated director of “City of God,” and three-time Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Anthony McCarten, comes an intimate story of one of the most dramatic transitions of power in the last 2,000 years. With the two having likeness with the actual popes, many were impressed with the casting and became hyped with the film. "The Two Popes"* will be streaming on Netflix in December.
