ABS-CBN opens the year with the much-awaited union of generations of grand slam actors in the upcoming series “The General’s Daughter”, which is seen in most countries outside the Philippines via The Filipino Channel (TFC), with its pilot episode streaming via TFC Online (www.TFC.tv) on January 21.

The General's Daughter Brings Back Angel To Primetime

Angel Locsin is opening up 2019 with a major teleserye in ABS-CBN with The General's Daughter slated to be part of Primetime Bida. We last saw her part of series was with La Luna Sangre. Also filled with huge names in the industry like Albert Martinez, Maricel Sorriano, and Tirso Cruz III, to name a few gives weight to the series which was rumored to replace FPJ's Ang Probinsyano both made by Dreamscape.

Angel shares that with the physically challenging role as Rhian, a daughter on a mission for revenge by pretending to be a different person to infiltrate the “enemy,” she has become more careful even having a physical therapist on set to check on her during the shoot.

REEL DEAL: Behind the Scenes of "Princess and I"

With teleseryes left and right might bore you with the same formula of story plot, ABS CBN's Princess and I have proven to be a cut above the regular Primetime programming. And to make a unique show is not easy, as this involves a lot of conceptualizing, taping, editing, and more. This one I say had the potential being a hit given the plot and production.

With just on its first 8 weeks, it has garnered an average of almost 40% TV ratings, interestingly enough, is also one of the shows that I was anticipating this year. Now we get to know more about the stars behind the "royal" teleserye.
