Being an advocate of education is not easy and to teach the value of education is another thing. But we were all inspired with the life of CNN Hero of the Year 2009, Efren Penaflorida who showed that even without the government, he can still make a difference.
This is also what inspired technology Hewlett-Packard to make make a program that will get young Pinoys to love education via reading, writting, and illustration. In line with their new products also comes the launch of the HP Write and Read 2 program.
HP, a global leader in technology, has launched the second phase of their Write and Read program with CNN Hero and HP Write and Read Ambassador Efren Peñaflorida, in cooperation with the Department of Education (DepEd), at the Richmonde Hotel here in Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
HP’s commitment to children’s creativity, education and holistic development made the Read and Write 2013 possible. The Write & Read program leveraged on the HP Ink Advantage printers as a tool in cultivating students’ potential and improving their creative and academic performance through affordable, reliable and high-quality prints.

The Department of Education for its part will utilize its set of workshop teachers who are experts in the fields covered by the program. The agency will also distribute information about HP Write and Read 2 and about Efren Peñaflorida’s, advocacy on how printed materials are important in nurturing students’ creativity in reading, writing and visual arts.
