REEL DEAL: The Banes of Society Found At Sitio "Kamkam"

Despite the growing economy, the problem of poverty, crime, and illegal drugs still rule the underworld in some parts of the country. Many have been depicted in many movie showing it, but many would only tackle just the shallow surface of these societies. What if you put all of these into one place with all the residents connected in one way or another and finds themselves in a complication of surviving, living, and loving, that place is Sitio Camcam.

Kamkam (Greed) tells the story of the squatter community of Sitio Camcam which is home to residents who engage in vices like gambling, drugs, illegal connections to water and electricity which is controlled by a local kingpin Johnny (Allen Dizon). The officials like Barangay Chairman Toming  (Emilio Garcia) tolerates the community and is a friend of Johnny however tensions between them starts with problems of the sitio gets complicated. Johnny is also a known womanizer, with three wives Salud (Jean Garcia), Evelyn (Sunshine Dizon) and Shane (Jackie Rice) who is his current favorite wife.

On The Set of Inamorata

GMA Afternoon Prime has a lot of new shows this year, and one of them is Inamorata starring Max Collins, Dion Ignacio, Luis Alandy, Jackie Rice and Gwen Zamora. "Innamorata" means My Love in Italian and made with intersting mix of Kapuso stars who have proven their prowress with shows in the Afternoon block such as Maghihintay Pa rin, Bukod Kang Pinagpala etc.

Inamorata tells the story of Esperanza who suffers from porphyria (a genetic disorder that develops blisters, itching, and swelling of the skin specifically when exposed to sunlight),  but still has a good heart despite of the taunts, discrimination of the people around her especially her stepmother. Despite her appearance, we was loved by Edwin who is the son of the owner of the shoe factory she is working. She then is displaced and was also removed from her job but is helped by her childhood friend Dencio.

REEL DEAL: Boy Pick Up The Movie SPOTLIGHT

As a fan of the longest running gag show in the Philippines, Bubble Gang,  has made unforgettable characters and sketches that have transcended trough generations, I am amazed on how these comedy sketches would actually become a very big thing. And one of them is the popular BOY PICK UP which made the pick up line revolution here and even abroad.

With its success and popularity, GMA Films and Regal Entertainment Inc., bring the wacky and addicting anticd of multi-talented comedian Ogie Alcasid to the big screen with the spin off of his character in Bubble Gang via BOY PICK UP THE MOVIE!

Set to hit theaters this June 6, the film not only promises to give the audience bigger laughs but also grants the wish of avid fans of Boy Pick Up from television into the big screen. This would be Bubble Gang's second spin off movie from their segments, the first was Yaya ang Angelina which also starred Ogie and Michael V.  Ogie expresses his excitement on playing the role for the first time after being in the industry for over 25 years. Ogie is likewise very thrilled to work with sexy Kapuso actress Solenn Heussaff who will be his leading lady in the movie.

Jackie Rice in a ‘cool-off’ with non-showbiz BF, but not ready to love someone else

During the pictorial and story conference of GMA-7’s upcoming drama series Kasalanan Bang Ibigin Ka?, actress Jackie Rice admitted to reporters that she and her non-showbiz boyfriend are technically in a “cool-off” situation after a recent misunderstanding.

“Mejo hiwalay kami, pero as of now friends kami. Pero tina-try namin na mag-work ‘yung dati.  Siyempre ayoko namang madaliin kasi ang tagal na namin,” she said in an interview.

Jackie immediately clarified, however, that the split-up was not caused by a third party, but a few misunderstandings.

“May mga bagay na hindi kami nagkakaintindihan – mga maliliit na bagay nagkakaaway kami. Siyempre nagkakaroon din ng misunderstandings.  So, ngayon parang nanliligaw ulit.”

So, since she is technically single, is she willing to entertain suitors?

Kapuso stars receive warm welcome in Bacolod's Panaad Festival

An estimated crowd of 15,000 Negrenses were treated to an exciting Kapuso experience via the Panaad Festival: Kapuso Night held recently at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City.

Featuring topnotch performances from RnB Princess Kyla and Steven Silva of Party Pilipinas, and Kapuso leading lady Sarah Lahbati (from the upcoming Kapuso primetime offering Makapiling Kang Muli), the event served as the highlight of the Kapuso Network’s participation in this year’s Panaad Festival.

Steven and Sarah, who are both products of GMA’s popular talent reality search Starstruck, surprised the audience with a special duet number. The sizeable crowd went agog as the two artists fueled the “kilig explosion” with their seemingly good rapport.

The excitement reached fever pitch as soon as Kyla took the stage. And the RnB Princess did not disappoint with her impressive song numbers. She also participated in the Kapuso Meet and Greet in SM City Bacolod at 4pm that day.
