SNICKERS® Launches "Not Yourself When You Are Hungry"

Have you ever felt that hunger has sometimes changed you into someone else?

“You’re not you when you’re hungry!” said Lizette de Guzman, National Sales Manager of MARS Philippines Inc.

SNICKERS® today launched its newest campaign In the Philippines, dubbed “You’re not you when you’re hungryTM,” a concept which was developed behind universal insights that hunger makes a person weak and behaves differently, ultimately affecting the people around us and our performances. The campaign runs simultaneously in two other countries, Malaysia and Singapore.

“You’re not you when you’re hungryTM” is another innovative ad campaign that brings out the benefit of SNICKERS®, especially for the Filipinos; that it is a substantial bar that combats hunger to keep you going while satisfying their sweet tooth,” explained Lizette.
Gracing the launch at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall are Azkals Skipper Aly Borromeo, Striker Phil Younghusband, and Midfielder James Younghusband, as they can very well attest to how as an athlete, they need their bodies to be at the optimal condition to perform at the highest level.

MUSIC LYF: ESCAPE from this heat with TECHY ROMANTICS

Since June 2008, Techy Romantics has been playing the local gig circuit, infiltrating the ranks of Manila and Southeast Asia’s partyphiles, and churning track after track of the year’s most danceable tunes. No matter if you’re a rockstar, an indie enthusiast, or a socialite; you’ll find yourself entranced and electrified by the Techy Romantics sound.

Described as “edgy, dreamy, and trippy”, the music of Techy Romantics will have you in a feel-good, electro-pop frenzy, evidenced by the head-bobbing, fist-pumping, and foot-stomping commonplace among the crowds in almost all their gigs. Composed of Camyl Besinga on vocals, Ryan Villena on guitars, and Dondi Virrey on rhythm and beats, Techy Romantics was born with the simple aim of making original music available online. Relatively young in the scene, the group created songs that successfully fuse a potent mixture of new wave, rock, pop, and dance music.

Director James Cameron painstakingly researched the music that was played on the ship and hired them to record authentic music from the period – specifically, the music that all bands from the White Star Line would have been required to perform when hired to play as employees of the prestigious cruise fleet.  Arranger and music historian/advisor John Altman oversaw the process and was tasked with taking the White Star Line official playlist, arranging and recording those songs for the film. Two of the marquee songs on the disc I Salonisti: Gentlemen, It Has Been a Privilege Playing with You Tonight are “Nearer My God To Thee” which was the last song played by the band as the ship went down, and “Song of Autumn” which does not appear in the movie, but is rumored to be the actual song that the band played as the ship went down.

GMA Network hits P13.083 billion consolidated revenues in 2011

Releases cash dividends equivalent to 114 percent of full 2011 net income

GMA Network, Incorporated (GMA), the leading broadcast media company in the Philippines, hit consolidated revenues worth P13.083 billion in 2011.

Notwithstanding the absence of P2.054 billion worth of revenues from political advertisements generated in 2010 and the global impact of financial crisis in Europe and slow economic recovery in the US last year, the Company delivered a fairly competitive business performance.

In fact, despite the cutback in the advertising budget of top multinationals whose headquarters are based abroad, the Network’s leadership in nationwide ratings won for the Company a substantial portion of the available ad spend.

GMA Channel 7, the Company’s top performing business unit and the country’s most watched television station, posted an eight-percent revenue growth from regular advertising during the financial period versus the preceding year, more than double the gross national product (GNP) growth rate of only 3.5 percent in 2011.

Groups Have Endured and Succeeded The 12 hour Sing-A-Thon

Singing for 12 hours is no joke, others it will be torture, but not for us Filipinos especially for those who take care of their oral health. To prove this, Bactidol made an epic event that will test the skill and endurance of the Pinoy voice.

The 12 hour Sing-a-thon held at Red Box Rock Dine and Roll at Eastwood mall brings a diversity of groups that came from different walks of life. Some are workmates from different call centers, some are barkadas who have the passion for singing.

A total of 21 groups joined the sing-a-thon that started at 12 noon. The groups have the liberty of choosing their playlist however they can get some food and drinks after singing selected challenge songs. And speaking of challenges, there is also a special Challenge Room wherein individual participants from the groups go on a head to head battle to be the king of the videoke!
DJ's Chico and Delamar were there to host the event for the whole day, they do also go around the rooms to see the groups in action. The event also gets a lot of feedback and tweets from twitter with the hashtag #12hrsingathon and #bactidol. I may not have a team on my own but never let the night pass without belting some songs. Ebe Dancel and Barbie Lamabis also made a surprize appearance to the participants and joined in the fun. I also made a short video below of what is happening during the event  and how exciting it was.
