BPI-Philam helps Filipinos prepare this Disaster Awareness Month

The Philippines isn't new to natural disasters or calamities.

Compared to its other Southeast Asian neighbors, our country experiences a wider range of disasters. From floods to landslides, and typhoons to earthquakes – the most recent of which just happened in Leyte with a magnitude of 6.5 – the Philippines continues to endure and survive. Though the government does its best in preparing for and anticipating these times of emergency through awareness efforts and disaster response drills, self-mitigation is still an area that we can further improve on.

Life-Sized Lightning McQueen Model Now on Display at SM North EDSA

Former professional car racing champion and popular actor Matteo Guidicelli led the highly anticipated unveiling of the life-sized Lightning McQueen model during the Disney-Pixar's “Cars 3” Mall Event launch at SM North EDSA The Block yesterday.

Fans and families came in droves to witness the big-reveal of everyone’s favorite Piston Cup champ that is now on full display at The Block Atrium.

“The `Cars' film series of Disney and Pixar is close to my heart, and Lightning McQueen is definitely one of my most favorite characters that I can relate to due to our similar experiece as a racer,” Guidicelli said prior to the unveiling. “And I'm excited for everyone to see `Cars 3!' It's very entertaining, with lots of lessons to take home.”

MMA Drama KINGDOM Grapples With Pain And Acceptance As Season 3 Comes To A Close

About a year has passed since the heart-wrenching Season 2 finale of American mixed martial arts drama Kingdom, but while the motley crew of Navy St. Gym seems to have undergone plenty of change, Season 3 makes it clear that some things remain the same.

Kingdom comes back with Alvey Kulina (Frank Grillo) deciding to get off his antidepressants and learning to come to terms with his identity as a fighter, a father, and a son.

Jay Kulina (Jonathan Tucker)—now a family man—tries his hand on real estate, but inevitably returns to his old dysfunctional self after being fired for getting caught fighting with Ryan Wheeler (Matt Lauria). Ryan, on the other hand, suddenly has to cope with his roommate’s murky past, as well as his own penchant for violence.

REEL DEAL: King Arthur Legend of the Sword REVIEW

The Story of King Arthur has been loved and immortalized in many films and stories. Now in this decade, the way to introduce the legend would take an interesting approach  with King Arthur: Legend of the Sword directed by Guy Ritchie, starring Charlie Hunnam and Jude Law.

A medieval yet alternative approach to the classic story, they made a bold statement for the film. Though I am familiar with the story of the knights of the round table, they made bold moves in terms of the plot and how the "texture" of the movie is like. 

You will feel that modern elements are incorporated with the styles such as costumes and dialogues. It felt kinda weird but given you have a story that has been portrayed with thousands of versions, this room for innovation is welcome, yet there are still things they can improve on. This is probably the first time Charlie Hunnam is in a lead role, which he looks well prepared to take the role. I hope this can be a ticket to more possible roles in the future.

Get Ready for the First Trailer of Spielberg's "Ready Player One"

Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for Ready Player One, the already much-anticipated sci-fi action adventure, directed by Steven Spielberg. 

The film is based on the Ernest Cline novel of the same name and takes place in the year 2045, where the world is on the brink of chaos and collapse.
