Happy Easter Everyone!

I know its kinda late but we are still in the easter season according to the liturgical calendar of the Catholic Church. I wanted to share this post as a sign of celebration after Lent. I feel there is a new life for me now. I may sound like a religious man but simply I just felt better after a lot of times, hard times, has passed recently yet I am still here doing what I like to do best. There is still a lot to celebrate these days. Internet now is limited because of my resources but I am very optimistic about my ventures in the days to come. Now its a time to celebrate life, a new life, and its called EASTER.

Reel Deal: ROMEO AT JULIET

We have seen so many versions of the classical tragedy slash love story of Romeo and Juliet, but for this

one it takes a different perspective. This is also my first time to review a local indie film. Romeo at Juliet is not actually the names of the lead characters but it follows the plot of the classic love tragedy. It tells the lives of Jospeh and Angel both having a complicated past and present. Their love flourished even if there was a lot of secrets behind their personalities. Also there is complex connection and history on how the characters came to be. The story is good, however I feel that some dialogues are not natural for those scenes.
Overall, the feel was still very good, there was love, there was pain, the sexy scenes was erotic in an

artistic way enough just to stimute the senses. There was really no nudity on the film, which most of us

was expecting but it rather left an impression of the storyline. Although it was really a love story,  a story based from the tragedy did spin off into scenes not suitable for all ages. I dont know what is the official rating for this movie by the MTRCB, but I think it would rated as R-18. I however recommend this movie for those who are into appreciating the art of the movie and not to get mushy on how their love flourished like other love flicks. There is a lot of good surprizes in the movie and its really worth your money for this local indie.

Deliberation time kids!

Movie summary in 3 lines: Sexy Bloody Love

Changing Lives! Justin Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, and Jojo in one explosive concert!

Many artists are graced to perform here in the Philippines this year. However, there would be nothing better than having three very famous and established artists to perform for one night. I am a big fan of these three artist. Justin Timberlake being one of the best performers for this generation. Jojo which is known for her charm and voice that wowed the world. And most especially Timbaland, who make chart-topping  songs by collaborating with the best artists in the industry. This is benefit concert so it means that it would help a lot of people still affected by the calamities that happened here. So it would make a lot of difference in helping others while also enjoying the smooth and great sounds by the collaboration of the three.

Here is Timbaland's newest single with Kathy Perry that is topping the charts today, one of my favorites! I believe its what you have on you iPods or MP3 players!

OH! So Many Thrills with Chowking Orange Chicken!

Oh!
(with a very surprised exclamation)

Things can happen unexpectedly and so fast that this is the only word that we could say. And this was my cry when I attended the event for Chowking's 25th anniversary at one of its branch in Bonifacio Global City. Its also the official launch of their newest product which is the Chowking Orange Chicken. This Oh-some and Oh-range-gy dish is endorsed by top actor Jericho Rosales. With the launch of the dish, which has a very appealing color and taste of the sweetness of oranges and the  juiciness of chicken that would make you dance.
Speaking of dance, the event was also filled with the party spirit since there is a dance craze that made all of the people dance, they called it the Chicken Dance. To the tune of Keysha's tictoc, a simple yet viral dance was introduced to the audience. And it was not hard for all to learn the dance since everyone is having a good time doing it.
Its seems like the song also became a last song syndrome to us who attended because up to now, I can't still get over the song and the
steps. Many of my friends are also experiencing the same feeling. It was really fun and exciting. What also made the night very spiced up is when they gave away prizes to the audience that have the best performance of the Chicken dance. I was lucky to win a swatch watch for my efforts, also my blogger friends took home prizes.

What also took my attention is when the president of Chowking, Mr. Erwin Elechicon also did the orange chicken dance on stage and made a good performance. Its seems everyone in the store (that they converted into a party house) is infected with the viral dance craze. And who would not be? The energy from the people inside the store is bursting with energy  from all the surprises.
Aside from the cosplayers present in the event, there was a flash mob that made a scene at the start of the program. You don't see a flash mob everyday epecially inside a fast food store. So far, it made an impression on me that I am in a variety show and forgot that this is a restaurant.
And there was a contest that they did for the cosplayers wherein 11 individuals were dancing with Jericho doing the Orange Chicken Dance. Its  kinda cool since you don't also see cosplayers dancing a different genre other than anime. Alodia Gosiengfiao, one of the country's top cosplayer, is also one of the contestant for this one. To vote for your favorite cosplayer, you may view them in their youtube  account.  So many thrill happened so fast yet unforgettable. Its a bice way of celebrating your success in the food industry that lasted for 25 years now. So far,  The  experience was very fun and made me interested to be a fan of the Orange Chicken, and even the dance!

Ice Breaker Scambles!

Just after a pictorial for a play poster, we went to SM Manila just to freshen up and while waiting, we  encoutered this kiosk that is selling just one product. But the product they are selling is what I never expected to be, ICE SCAMBLE! Yes, the Pinoy ice delicacy that are sold by cart peddlers which I grew up with. This pink concoction has been a favorite especially to kids however recently I have not  tasted this for quite some time now.

There was also a decline for the demand of this product when they were issued for the sanitation of its preparation. The Ice and the other ingredients were placed in containers that were open to contamination. Thus many people would not like scramble anymore since it poses a threat to health. Ice breaker ensures that their product uses clean utensils and fresh supplies making the scramble experience much better.

Althought it maybe a little bit pricier than the peddled ones but it is still affordable enough even to the average Pinoy. They also have toppings like marshmallows and rice crispies plus you can also add more milk powder by just adding a small amount. I believe that this will be a hit for summer, however I hope they would add more branches because I don't go to SM Manila frequently. Its a blessing from above for this ice scramble! This will at least quench the heat from the current El Nino heat.

Starbucks Mezza is now open! Free wifi at SM Centerpoint!

Lately there had been nice improvements here in the Sta Mesa area after it was badly affected by typhoon ondoy last year. Mezza by SM has been a great landmark there. And since its also across my school (CCP), it has been very convenient for me. But what caught my attention is the new starbucks store on Mezza. Its kinda exciting since SM Sta Mesa does not have Starbucks and the other store is located kilometers away in Quezon Boulevard. It actually opened last week and saw that they have a lot of customers which I can say is a nice location. I am looking forward to enjoy a frappe here soon.

Also another thing that happened in SM City Sta Mesa is the launch of the FREE WIFI! Yes you heard it right, free wifi and this time its available in one of SM's pioneer mall. I have not tried it yet but I was able to get a pic from the launch and it seems to be good. Now these things made me so happy since its just beside school. I thought that Sta Mesa was left out but with these improvements in the area, I feel that this is be a center of trade, education and also amusement. Now the only thing missing is a McDonalds branch, the branch in SM closed and never opened since then. Well at least there are improvements and these makes life here in Sta Mesa more convenient.

Central Colleges of the Philippines won National Cheer leading Competition!

I almost forgot that this day was also the championship of the National Cheerleading Competition  for the College Division. I did not actually went to the venue which was the Ynares Stadium but I have watched it via studio 23. There were 19 teams that is labeled as the top cheering squad in the whole country. And since there is more than thousands of schools in the nation, its a privilege that a school would be part of the 19 qualifying teams.
And since the competition is cheerleading, the routine of each team would be unpredictable. Cheerleading is also prone to a lot of accidents especially to the ones who are usually tossed up in the air.  This is the 5th year of the competition and my school, CCP, has won 2 championships since then and for this year, they intend to regain the championship title from University of Perpetual Help Delta.
This season of NCC is also special since the brodcast of the event can be watched on High Defenition via ABS-CBN sports. Its also my fist time to see the Ynares stadium which is a new facility and different from the Ynares Colliseum in Antipolo. Since there were 19 teams in the competition, the exhibition time is lessened to 2 minutes and a half. There is also minimal props so it would concentrate more in the movements and stunts of the teams.
The Central Colleges of the Philippines has also won an International Cheerleading Championship, held in Brisbane Austrailia. Well as a student there, I also saw how they spend long hours even in the wee hours practicing their stunts and dances, so I believe that they are worthy of the title. Of course, the other teams have their sacrifices and contributions for their respective teams. Now since all the schools are of the best in the nation, everyone in the 19 teams are awarded. Now below are the ranking of the winners of NCC 2010:

1. Central Colleges of the Philippines - Another achievement after winning internationally!
2. University of the Cordilleras - also my favorite! They have been consistent in the top 5 for these years, kudos!
3. University of Perpetual Help System Delta - they won last year.
4. De La Salle University - for this team I felt that the men were in the spotlight...something like an 'astig' feel
5. Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan - I have to admit they were better than sister school ADMU...
6. Polythechnic University of the Philippines - Taguig -  A big leap of ranking this year!
7. Tarlac State University - who said Tarlac is just rice fields? its home of cool cheerleaders!
8. Rizal Technological University - they lived up to their name to be innovative
9. Ateneo de Manila University - They made sure that they set a standard of international cheerleading.
10. Jose Rizal University - the BOMBS!
11. Notre Dame of Dadiangas University - the Pride of Dadiangas! (General Santos City)
12. Palawan State University - Good job for a new commer in the NCC finals!
13. Araullao University - PHINMA - cool choreography!
14. Southern Luzon State University - not the usual cheering squad!
15. Mapua Institute of Technology - they showed that they are good in sports aside from engineering
16. Angeles University Foundation - a new team to enter the finals and has a good future
17. St. Michael's College Laguna - this school is in Binan, hey I'm from Binan too!
18. Virgins Cheerleading Squad - loved the costume!
19. Unibersidad de Maynila - I saw their team several times in various competitions and agree that they are worthy to be part of the Philippines' best cheer squad.

now here is the winning cheer from the Central Colleges of the Philippines Bobcats!

I hope to see more action and amazing stunts next year, and who knows another Cinderella story will be born in the competition. And since it covers the whole country, more people would take interest in watching this and also show support!
