America's Unluckiest Lovable Family Returns in "Vacation"‏

New Line Cinema’s outrageous comedy “Vacation” starring Ed Helms, Christina Applegate and Chris Hemsworth, marks the big screen return of the Griswold clan—and their epically disastrous family outings.

The Griswolds first hit the screen in 1983 with the release of John Hughes’s and Harold Ramis’s zeitgeist-shifting “National Lampoon’s Vacation,” based on Hughes’s short stories in the eponymous humor magazine. The film became a global phenomenon and opened the way for the Griswolds to bumble through an escalating series of hilarious highs and gut-bustingly funny lows in the three subsequent films that followed—1985’s “National Lampoon’s European Vacation,” 1989’s “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” and 1997’s “Vegas Vacation.” Collectively, the films have introduced a litany of outrageous one-liners into the American cultural lexicon, and garnered generations of fans.

New "Vacation" Poster, Trailer Hit the Road‏

New Line Cinema’s “Vacation,” starring Ed Helms, Christina Applegate and Chris Hemsworth, has just revealed its latest poster and trailer. The latter may be viewed here at https://youtu.be/k9yGycKwa8I.

“Vacation” marks Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley’s directorial debut.

Following in his father’s footsteps and hoping for some much-needed family bonding, a grown-up Rusty Griswold (Helms) surprises his wife, Debbie (Applegate), and their two sons with a cross-country trip back to America’s “favorite family fun park,” Walley World.

Rounding out the cast are Leslie Mann (“The Other Woman”) as Rusty’s sister, Audrey; Chris Hemsworth (the “Thor” films) in the role of Stone Crandall, Rusty’s irritatingly successful brother-in-law; and Skyler Gisondo (“Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb,” “Hard Sell”) and Steele Stebbins (“A Haunted House 2”), who play Rusty’s sons, James and Kevin. Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo reprise their roles as Clark and Ellen Griswold from the classic “Vacation” comedies.

Opening across the Philippines September 02, “Vacation” is a New Line Cinema presentation and will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment company.

"Harry Potter" Director Conjures '80s Videogames for "Pixels"‏

From Chris Columbus, director of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer Stone,” comes Columbia Pictures’ “Pixels,” the tentpole action comedy in which aliens attack the Earth, using 1980s videogames as the model for their invasion.

Columbus helped define 1980s movies as the writer of “Gremlins” and “The Goonies,” then went on to direct beloved, classic comedies like “Home Alone” and “Mrs. Doubtfire,” and help launch epic, special-effects blockbuster franchises like “Harry Potter,” “Percy Jackson” and “Night at the Museum.”

Fifth "Mission: Impossible" Goes to Extremes, Ups the Stakes‏

Paramount Pictures’ new action-thriller “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation,” the fifth installment of the series, redefines the term impossible.

It’s something the film franchise has been doing since its box-office busting start two decades ago: with each new film, the team led by dedicated star and producer Tom Cruise has uncovered ways to match, then exceed, audience expectations, each time in different ways. Having begun as a cult phenomenon on 1960s television, “Mission: Impossible” has become a 21st Century cultural phenomenon – a filmmaking event that consistently pushes that border where the classic drama of spy-versus-spy intrigue meets creative action sequences that have become legendary.
