Children at the Crossroads: A Photo Exhibit

A child walking along the road of displaced families. A five year old boy in Camp Afghan by the side of his grandfather, a combatant of the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces. Children praying at dawn by the side of their makeshift tents along the highway. These snapshots where captured by the lenses of the celebrated photographer, Jun De Leon, as he visited Maguindanao, days after the Mamasapano incident in January.

Entitled "Children at the Crossroads: Window to Healing in Mindanao," de Leon's photographs were put on display from October 2-4 at the Glorietta 5 Activity Center. The exhibit aims to raise awareness on the effects and impact of armed conflict in the Bangsamoro on children. It is also part of the continuing celebration of the National Peace Consciousness Month held annually every September and the National Children's Month held every October.

This exhibit is organized by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAAP) in partnership with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), Glorietta and Ayala Center.
