APAFS, TOAP seek to promote a bigger and better outlook for fiduciaries, slates back-to-back conference in October

TOAP President and BPI SVP and Head of Asset Management and Trust Group, Ma. Teresa Javier smiles at the performance of the country's economy in strengthening and protecting itself from external factors and sees internal growth in Asia today. Ms. Javier shared her thoughts with the media on the upcoming Pacific Region Investment Conference organized by APAFS this October 20-21, 2011, as an opportunity for the Philippine Trustees and Wealth Managers to step up and have excellent standards of practice.

The Asia Pacific Association for Fiduciary Studies (APAFS), together with the Trust Officers Association of the Philippines (TOAP), aims to bring the biggest investment conference yet in the Asia Pacific region as the 11th Annual Pacific Region Investment Conference kicks off on October 20 and 21 barely after the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® Training on October 18 and 19.

APAFS and TOAP, through the PRIC, envision creating the financial and investment arena into a progressive niche for world-class fiduciaries. For this reason, the 11th PRIC seeks to promote its goal by having a back-to-back fiduciary event with the fi360™ AIF® Training.

“As ‘Guardians of Trusts’, we need to ensure that we secure the assets we are entrusted to protect with the same intensity we would secure our personal assets. The Asia Pacific Association for Fiduciary Studies is the regional resource to help achieve this goal,” says APAFS Chairman Gerard Cruz

Through TOAP’s partnership with APAFS, which is further manifested through the 11th PRIC, their aim to unite, professionalize and promote the Philippine Trust and Investment Management Industry is being strengthened.

“We have always been very grateful with our partnership with APAFS. It is very significant for us to transform and mold the country’s investment management industry. This is also in line with our efforts best to always keep the country’s investment industry equipped with what they needed to learn in the trend and field of investment and fiduciary in the region, and possibly worldwide.”, says Maria Theresa Marcial-Javier, President of the Trust Officers Association of the Philippines.

The AIF® Training will be a 2-day in-class course which will be slated on October 18-19, 2011, where the components and fundamentals of a broad investment process will be discussed. The training and the discourse will be facilitated by fi360™ CEO Blaine Aikin who will be sharing his knowledge in the field by providing this upcoming AIF® Training with substantial fiduciary topics to rally round the aspiring AIF® recipients to their target success. The training culminates with an AIF® examination for participants to receive the legality of the title.

Subsequent to the training is the 11th PRIC to be held on October 20-21, 2011. The only education conference forum focusing on the Asia Pacific region, this year’s PRIC is expected to bring in 300 delegates—fiduciaries and investment professionals—from across the region. The presence of world-class finance experts as speakers in the conference is also sure to draw together valuable opinion and information on the current global economic issues and trends.

A number of key players in the financial industry have also pledged their support in the upcoming conference: the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP), the Chartered Financial Analyst Society of the Philippines (CFA), the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX), and the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE).

APAFS’s registration for the PRIC and the Fi360™ AIF® Training is on-going. Register via the URL www.brandspeakasia.com/apafs2011. To learn more about APAFS and its events and conferences, log on to www.apafs.org.
