This summer, we may visit the malls more often that we are used to. But this would become a routine that sometimes we can get bored so easily. But recently SM Supermalls have made going to the mall just got better and exciting as they proudly releases the SM iButterfly, an Augmented Reality Application for the IOS and Android mobile devices that started on May 5, 2012 at select SM Supermalls particularlly:

And with the growing number of android and iOS devices, more and more people will enjoy this amazing application.
I attended the official launch at SM the block with the bloggers and I also installed the application on my HTC chacha and have it tested. I have caught several unique butterflies including BDO buttelflies. Its like playing pokemon wherein you gotta catch them all!

iButterfly uses 3 technologies: Augmented Reality, for seeing the iButterflies in the real world, Motion Sensors for catching iButterflies using your phone and your phone’s Global Positioning System or GPS for finding where the iButterflies are. It is definitely a unique way of enjoying promos from tenant partners such as Starbucks, Krispy Kreme, Forever 21, David’s Salon, Kenny Rogers, Jollibee, Mang Inasal, Chowking, Red Ribbon, Greenwich, Smart, BDO and Mc Donald’s!
As I also go to the mall more often and visit more SM Malls, I have more reasons to go around them and catch them. Its also a great collection as no real butterflies will be hurt but still have the same fun and excitement as the real thing.

Catching an iButterfly is easy. First, download the application by connecting to the free SM WIFI or the SM_iButterfly SSIS at the participating malls you may also use your phone’s 3G connection. Using your gadget, simply download the App via Google Play and App Store’s, just search for the iButterfly Asia App. Once downloaded, open the App and start catching iButterflies. These turn into instant prizes. Simply claim your prize at participating mall stores like the Global Pinoy Center which I also my favorite place.
