ASEAN Partylist Wants At Least One Professional For Each Family

Personally I would really appreciate candidates that gives value to education above all priorities. Because it is still education that will form the public of more informed and skilled citizens of the country. Despite our country has one of the highest literacy rate in the world, it fails largely on subjects like science and math. There is also a growing number of high school graduates that are not able to continue with college education.

There are a lot of factors, but the government is not directing the right policies that will help in creating more professionals and skilled workers for the growing economy. The ASEAN Party list comes forward to the cause of creating more opportunities for students to pursue their tertiary education through various policies they would like to present to congress.

Known as the Academicians, Students and Educators Alliance Inc. or ASEAN, the partylist was formed in 201 by Prof. Win Ballada who is accountant by profession and has published several books about accounting like "Accounting Made Easy." He ranked top 2 in the CPA board exam and has long been an advocate of education for all as the key to solve problems like poverty, hunger etc.

Coming from a struggling family himself, Prof. Win proved that despite these difficulties, and was able to get scholarships that really helped him in finishing his studies.

However this might not be the case for everybody who are also in the same situation and coming from far provinces where college education is a luxury rather than a necessity. This situations for many Filipino students. The lack of education of many forces them to move out of the country to work leaving their families behind.

The ASEAN Partylist Platform can be broken down into these points:

Access to Education; Adopt-A-Student Act, Faster and Cheaper Internet, Free WiFi in Schools;
Scholarships, Subsidies and Support for Reviewees, Student and Educators, Salary Upgrades for Educators;
Employment, Entrepreneurship, Ease of Doing Business, OFWs Reintegration, Enhanced TEDSA, all for Economic development,
Anti-Corruption, Anti-Red Tape, Pro-ASEAN Integration, Amend CPD, Accountability in Govt Service;
Nation-Building. Nominees are CPA-Deans, Educators, Book Authors, Practitioners and HR Professionals.

If given seats for congress, they will also have fellow academicians as nominees for the party namely Dr. Roberto Gonzales, and Dr. Christopher Biore. Dr. Gonzales is a dean, controller, and management accountant, while Dr. Biore is a dean, advocacy projects mentor and book author. Though all accountants, they also represent educators and connected with school networks that cater to many courses.

In the last election they got 125,069 votes but was not able to get a seat, however they are positive that this time they will be able to reach more as they became more persistent in campaigning this year. They hope that they will get support from students, educators, and fellow believers in education.
